An Amazing camera with alot of tricks up it's sleave
Review created: 29/05/08

I was looking for a good quality slimline camera that fitted nicely into the pocket that gave good quality party pictures.

When I started my quest I had a budget of a 100 pounds. for this I wanted A good lens, red eye reduction for low light shots, large screen that is also viewable in sunny conditions, motion correction when your using the zoom and above all ease of use (no I don't want to read the f*****g manual)

I searched on Ebay for some good name brands (Sony, Kodak, Olympus etc) I saw the Canon SD750 at a good price.

Now you do have to understand that this was an impulse bid and I had done NO research on the product I was bidding on and the only thing I had to go on was that the 1st Generation Ixus 2mp camera that i owned was for many years a faithful (yet bulky) companion that took great pictures.

When i received the Camera I had no time to test it as i was on a plane 4 hours after it was delivered.

I arrived on holiday charged up the battery cast aside the instruction in Manley defiance and off i went for a weeks holiday.

First off this little baby is amazing. it's slim, light and very portable. It firs in the pocket without you even noticing it's there.

Then there is the functionality, the instruction manual is still in the wrapping, the menu navigation is so simple that even the most technophobe can understand them. The function buttons are well spaced so even if you have unnaturally large digits you wont press two buttons at once.

Battery life is outstanding! I had taken 398 photo's before the battery died. This includes reviewing photos and working out how to use the menus on the god sized LCD screen,(which has a great orientation thingy that I think just great) HOWEVER (99% of these pictures taken were in sunlight so the flash was hardly used.)

Then are the quality of the pictures.... what can I say but superb!! every shot is crystal clear and rich in colour even the Macro shows the bubbles rising in a champagne glass. You can also print out an A4 sized printout with absolutely no loss in quality whatsoever, not to mention that the red eye reduction is also well above par and apart from my dogs eyes looking like Satan it's does the job perfectly (but then what's Photoshop for)

If anybody is reading this then be assured that this Camera will NOT let you down I am so impressed it has everything I was looking for and more, However if you are considering buying the Canon Powershot SD750/Ixus 750 then what ever you do Only get the all-over silver, the silver and black in my opinion is chavvy,

and for all of you who just want the short review.... Buy this it's the nuts! great pics, solid stylish design (except the silver and black version) easy to use and small.

  Canon IXUS 75 compact Camera
Review created: 21/05/08

This is just what I was looking for. I wanted a small compact digital to complement my DSLR I received for Christmas and this camera is just the thing. It is small enough to put in my handbag, ready to take those shots when I see them, which is what I needed as I am currently studying a Diploma in Photography and need to have a camera always to hand.

The shots I have taken so far have been very clear and spot on.

Excellent.

Totally brilliant camera. Bought for my daughter who is now able to take better and more versatile photographs than I do on my SLR. So good in fact that I am getting rid of my SLR in favour of buying a Compact like hers. It may be a compact but it packs more of a punch than any camera I have ever used. Small enough to take out on a night out with your friends and for it not to make its company known.

Review on Canon POwershot SD750/IXUS 75 digital camera
Review created: 13/05/08

I love the pictures and everything else. Just yet to find out how to deativate the card lock thing that comes up. When you switch it on and it comes up, you can't use the camera and you have to switch it on and off so many times until it doesn't come up. And I still don't know how to unlock it to use.

great digital camera! brilliant quality and more features than you can shake a stick at. two batteries so one can be charging whilst the other is in use. The camcorder feature is easily as good as most standard camcorders but what makes this camera best (for me anyway) is it's size. You can fit it in your pocket and forget about it if you like but have it on you for when one of your friends falls over in a drunken haze.. bigger cameras and camcorders are a hassel to carry around which then means you rarely have them on you when you want them. This little gem is different. top buy.

If you're looking for a small but beautifully made compact digital camera look no further. Comes with large easy to see 3inch digital screen and so easy to use. Two piece construction from aluminium and plastic - gelled into superior quality item. It feels superb - would highly recommend especially at price paid which nearly £50 cheaper than on High Street.

The battery charger came with a American style plug. No adapter was provided for usage in UK. Besides the electric lead, all the functions work properly.

  Excellent Little Camera
Review created: 08/05/08
by:

I purchased this camera as I previously owned an Ixus 500 and loved it. I have to say that the Ixus 75 is even better in my opinion. The lack of an optical viewfinder is absolutely no problem with the massive screen. As I use it for all my ebay pictures the macro mode is invaluable and works well. The small size makes it very easy to take everywhere, which I do, and have shot some great pictures on the fly. It's more responsive than the 500. All in all a great little camera. I can thoroughly recommend it for anyone wanting a good all rounder with great portability. Quality pictures at a good price.

  Canon Ixus 75 Camera Review

I've been a long time Canon fan especially with regards to their cameras. Being a 'casual' photographer I've gone for the point and click camera option, the Ixus 75 has been a great purchase. The large screen dominates the back of the camera and makes for god viewing of photos that have been taken.

The camera is quick to turn on and start taking pictures. There's also a whole host of shooting modes and effects that can be applied to photos.

It is a nice compact camera at a very reasonable price.

This advertised as a refurb but it is brand new. Easy to operate with video function that is fantastic. The camera was supplied quickly with 6 freebies, including an extra battery and 4gb card. The camera is everything it was advertised as and would buy again from this ebayer.

  Canon ixus 75 review
Review created: 02/05/08

I was on a mission to find a point and shoot camera with lots of features, and that takes a great shot in varied conditions, comes with a few extras and doesn't cost heaven and earth. The ixus 75 fitted the bill nicely. Nice and small and power packed, easy to use nice big 3" LCD screen.

The photos are great, battery life seems to last and last forever. I bought a bigger memory card for mine as the 32mb supplied one doesn't hold much being so small.

You could google this camera and find tons of reviews and they all say the same thing its an excellent camera basically.

It gets my vote, I'm sure you will not be disappointed in this camera and will be a nice addition to you life.

Happy photo shooting!

  Wonderful Point n Shoot
Review created: 30/04/08
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Very simple, very intuitive. Straight out of the box, this little camera takes excellent shots. So, they're never going to be DSLR quality, no compact can match those BIG lenses, but for something that you can carry round in a bag/ pocket, it takes pretty impressive shots.
Even viewed on a 14" screen, the shots look deep, colour is true and not saturated, and sharpness is better than any other compact I've had. I've had a Sony CyberShot W55 and a Fuji Finepix A800; the first returned to JLP because it took such bad shots, the second resigned to a sock drawer because it's big, eats batteries and also takes flat out-of-focus shots.
For the fussy, edge sharpness does drop off slightly, but if you're looking for perfection you'll have to go DSLR.
When you put this camera in Auto mode, face recognition, auto ISO and auto flash take care of all your worries. You may never need to tinker with the other settings, but if you do they are all logical and easily accessed. Strange thing to say in its favour, but you really don't need to read the manual. The most difficult bit about getting up and running is getting the mains plug components joined up (~hint, just force them!)
No regrets at all; perfect pocket camera.

Cannon Power Shot SD 750/ Ixus Digital Camera
Review created: 16/04/08
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Having already purchased this camera before I had no doubts about buying a second Ixus 75 for my 11 year old son.
This is a simple camera to use, navigating the camera menus, with very little practice, you can be taking spectacular photos and short film clips,
The computer download softwear is easy to use and within a short time your albums are soon filling up giving you prints and blow ups of superb quality and clarity with depth and presence of field
To date I have not found any situation this camera has not performed well in. The camera allows you to point and push for those great snap shots but also allows you to set up your picture light levels and focus for that special set
This Camera is small and light and can be easily carried so can always be at hand
I do find that the rechargable batteries can run down quickly so suggest that you carry spares, I carry three and this will easily allow 200 to 300 photos
without problems
The auto settings for flash, infill and red eye reduction, and focusing give the user peice of mind and save a lot of messing about when you do not have time to compose a photo
The build quality of the camera is high ,it is capable of taking lifes little knocks, without problems, having dropped mine on several occasions, without more than a scratch, I would suggest always using a wrist strap, as this is a small camera to hold.
The screen is superb to use, giving the user a good colour feedback of what you will see as a final photo but be carfull as the anti reflective coating is easily scratched I use a plastic protector to give mine a longer life
Use caution though if turning the brightness of the LCD display up as this can sometimes lead to false light level indication when taking dark pictures
As I said this is the second Ixus 75 I have Bought and my forth Canon camera and would highly recomend this to anyone looking to buy a small quality camera

Very clear and sharp pictures. Camera has wonderful in-built features and large LCD screen. Another great feature is that you can take lots of photos and forget when was the last time battery was charged. The only drawback that I could find in this camera is that the buttons are a little small for my fingers.
