Samsung SGH-D900 Mobile Phone

The joystick on my last mobile, a SE k750i, started to play up and rather irritated me so I began reading reviews for a possible replacement.

I've used the Samsung for a couple of weeks now and I am pleased with it. It basically does everything solidly, phone, camera, sms, video and mp3 playback.

This is my first slide 'phone and I love that the keys are hidden. Some people have issues using the bottom set of keys as the lip can hinder usage here, however, I personally haven't noticed that this has been a problem.

I do have a couple of small gripes:-

1. Unable to use mp3 for text alerts, which seems to be a major problem with alot of reviews I've read, so you end up stuck with 10 alerts which sound dated and can be annoying.

2. It isn't as user friendly for texting than my old 'phone, though I can live with this.

Pleased with the purchase overall and will more than suffice until my next upgrade.

I like its good phone. Fast delivery, not bad price;) Good camera and ok video...
Just pictures and video have allways copy to memorycard, it take some time, but i think it only - for that phone...

I like samsung phones and it was brought because of the colour pink plus it had an MP3. The product by this seller was in excellent condition and service was quick would buy from them again A1 perfect

well the seller sead it was faulty but it works just fine nothing wrong at all. i got it because i had allready got one without the disk and charger so i brough this one just for the disk and charger so i got a real bargan

Good phone with big clear screen.
Slim and lightweight.
Smart looking.
Good reception and voice clarity.

Slow to process pictures. huge lag from pressing shutter button to actually taking the picture, subject usually moved by then.
Slow menue scrolling.

Had mine for 12 months and was really impressed. It was my second Samsung and had come on leaps and bounds in just 1 year.

The camera quality, although now a lowly 3 Megapixel, was actually really good. Landscapes, portraits all taken in its stride. Flash is good, although the very dark shots are not proper camera quality, which is the same as any other phone (my new Cybershot C902 is barely any better).

Battery life was good. Even at 12 months I could get a week's worth of life out of one charge, although that's with not a lot of talking.

What really impressed me was the reliability. This is only the THIRD phone I've had that hasn't developed some kind of fault! The other was my old Samsung and a Nokia 8210 (from about 10 years ago!)

Slide function still felt smooth after a year, and being a slide meant slightly larger buttons, which makes texting that bit easier.

Overall it feels pretty sturdy, preforms well: music player, camera, battery life and hell, even as a phone. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Has great features, camera is great and memory is spacious. Is compact so fits easily into pocket or bag. Abnd orange offers great benefits.

I like the following points in D900:
1- Slim Slide type
2- big screen
3- good camera 3Mega + AutoFocus + Flash
4- three alarms .
5- Timer
6- good level for ringtone on average .
7- open word doc + pdf files + txt + html +power point files .
8- Blutooth ear phone + wired earphone both included.
9- good mobile image editor .

But I dislike :
1- Strict software to install programs and moving files ,...etc .
2- Short video recording time 15 sec only .
3- paint scratched on both sides of keybord because of slide .
4- Calender not as i hoped to be .
5- not able to change SMS ringtone as i want .

the phone was in great condition and i bought it due to write up and was really happy with item once received postage was good value and was delivered on time.

I believe this to be one of the best phones on the market, affordable, easy to use and with all the necessary features, plus it comes in an array of stylish colours

I bought this phone on the same network as my old phone and the Samsung picks up less signal! Get very low signal at my house now when it used to be fairly good, that my only problem with the phone.

Other that that the phone is really good, great camera quality and audio is great.

Good looking mobile phone, eays to use. Much more expensive in the shops to buy, a real bargain. Bought it as my husbands mobile phone was stolen.

it works fine thamk you dilivery was very fast. have had a sim card for it and it works fine could have emptyd the fone book tho

Initial impressions are good. Nice slide action and mine only weighs 80g(how sad am I?)All the keys have a positive feel to them, but I havn't started using it yet so can't really comment on any of the features. I bought this because it got a 5/5 review on an official mobile review site and a colleague has one and thinks it's brill.

I loved the shape and slimness with the slide action of this samsung mobile phone. My previous mobile phone is also a samsung but an earlier model and I wanted to update. The only problem I have with it is the camera side to it is back to front,e.g.items which view on the left show on the right side of the phone screen. However,I have been informed that this could be a software problem requiring attention.

As mobile phones go, you'd be doing well with a 900i. Every feature that you want from a mobile, including bluetooth, GPRS, Quad Band, MP3 playback and a 3 Mega Pixel Camera. It's small, has a slider to protect those keys and has an excellent battery life.
If there where any disadvantages, they would be that the screen is fragile. They crack very easily, and that the camera takes too long to take a picture. If you have a very steady hand, then you'll be ok, because the pictures are very good quality when they not blurred!

The camera although good is quite slow. The way it is programmed is somewhat confusing. It is the first time I have had a Samsung. I`ve always had Sony and have found them to be a lot easier to use.

I am a Newby to mobile phones, having done without until about three months ago.I bought the Samsung D900i as a replacement for an identical phone which I managed to break before I had a chance to use it properly.This says nothing about the phone and a lot about me. I am more careful now.The Samsung has a host of accessories which can be purchased seperately, which all add to the functionality of the phone.~blue tooth earpeices, laptop battery chargers, crystal clear covers -cheap as chips on E bay.
It is a slide phone, with a load of functions built in, most of which I dont use, but if you want wap, mp3 player, photos, file sharing, and a bit of bling factor the this is the phone for you.
However, the usability of the phone is a bit of a faff on.It takes a bit getting used to the multi menus and sub menus, so trying to do something in a hurry is out.The phone has a tendancy to switch off half way through a conversation, and the network link (signal) is weak compared to an ancient Nokia-half-house-brick which i used to compare signal link strength.The Phone seems a bit flimsy, and care must be used to avoid damaging the screen when trying to remove the battery cover.A plastic clip on cover can be bought which offers some strength to the phone, but grit still gets between the cover and the screen to cause unsightly marks.Thescreen is hard to see in daylight, and ring tone is also a bit muted,and missed calls can happen. that saidt the phone connects to the internet, via a computer,easily and free down loadable software from Samsung opens up a whole new area of creativity.Create your own sounds and the software allows you to download them to your phone. Not all the tones can be changed though, or maybe they can, but you need to be a member of MENSA to work out how.
Naturally I bought mine second hand, and even new the (locked to a network) phone is fairly cheap, on E bay @ £65. Retail, the phone is unrealistically priced, and there are plenty cheaper phones, but not with a 3Mpixel camera etc.
This phone is a metallic pink colour,and the phone also comes in a variety of other less interesting colours. An easy way to personalise this phone is to paint the inside of the clear plastic cover(which you have to buy seperately) with Humbrol paint (e bay), which is easy to do, and gives a good result. I dont know anyone else with a pink and green phone.

The phone was sold as good condition .This was not the case. It was advertised as having 2 small marks on the top when it was infact covered in scratches on the screen. and had a couple of dents on the bottem.Also the phone was advertised as a samsung d900 ultra when in fact it was just a d900 so it was massleading in the advert. having said this the phone works well and i cant fault the item for performance but if people advertise an item it should be true to there discription of it.

I always wanted this phone but is quite hard to come across brand new. I bought a G600 but was gutted I couldnt have my own text tone. I bought this one second hand and was inpressed it had all the features my new one does plus you can have your own text tone. It is fetching decent money second hand also.

Does what it says, a nice looking phone,decent camera and good battery life, worth a look v more blingy and flash phones my daughter has the same so 2 generations
