I am a massive fan of Ricky Gervais and was hoping for the Extras DVD for Christmas. To my disappointment, I did not get it so thought I would treat myself. The first place I thought of buying it from was Ebay, as I had great buys just before Christmas and knew I could get a bargain. I was right. I got the Extras DVD for around £6 and it was money well spent. The service given by the seller was good - great communication about the product, good price and a fast delivery. When I watched it I knew I had got a bargain. It is so funny and I know I'll be watching it again and again. Good value for £6. There is nothing I disliked about this buy and I gave the seller some great feedback. Love Ebay!
Another great series from the team that bought us 'The Office'. Ricky Gervais is once again superb and the cameos from a host of celebrities are all brilliant also. I found this series to be much subtler than the office and for that fact it might not have the mass appeal that the office did. It took a couple of watches to grow on me, but now it's one of my favourite shows and I'm looking forward to the next series later this year.
The extras on the DVD are great as well. You have the usual things, outtakes (which are brilliant), deleted scenes (also great), and a couple of random videos mainly of Ricky Gervais being hilarious. All worthwhile.
If you are a fan of The Office or just wanting to re-live the series this is a must buy - absolutely worth the money alone purely to see the 'out-takes' disc! You'll never be able to watch Les Dennis again - not a bad thing in reality!
The Office is a great creation, it makes you laugh, wince & cringe all at the same time, but Extra's is better. Not because it has big names in the cast list, but because it is another brilliant idea, executed to perfection with all the slight faults of The Office ironed out.
This is a great DVD with an excellent bonus disc with out-takes, deleted scenes etc that are as good as the series itself.
Great DVD! I got it out from Blockbusters keen to see the latest release from Ricky Gervais... no, it wasn't as good as the Office, it was a slightly different sort of humour I suppose, but good nonetheless :) Definately worth watching, but I do agree with one of the other reviews in that it's a bit of a marmite :)
I loved the Office, and also Ricky's stand up dvd's, and so extras was looked forward to. I must admit I can see extras as being a bit of a 'marmite' series. Some poeple will love it for its clever plots and different topics each episode, others who will be expecting David Brent might be disapointed and might not get into it. It makes me laugh out loud when I watch any of the episodes, each one has several great incidents in it, my favorite has to be the Les Dennis episode. It makes you cringe, Brilliant.
While this show pulls out all the stops with regards to guest apperances like Ben Stiller, and Kate Winslet, the jokes that they are trying to pull off are merely toilet humour, they have lost the plot in trying to make us laugh from humour and trying to make us laugh because something is so wrong, we are not watching south park, we are semi-intelligent beings!!! Give us the benefit of the doubt!
