I think this is an excellent film.
It makes me laugh each time I see it.
The dialogue is extremely funny, especially when added to the skillful interpretation of the characters by Mr Pitt and Ms Jolie.
I suspect there are many people who feel exactly the same about their spouses and the double meanings become really funny once you can appreciate when and why they are coming.
I decided to buy it as I wanted to watch it when I had the time to do so, which was not necessarily when the television company decided to show it.

I watched this film at the cinema and I loved it so I had to buy it simple as that. The best film of 2005 in my opinion just not stop action, laughs and pure brilliance all the way through.

I have wanted to see this dvd for a while and when I saw it on Ebay with the right price, including delivery, I bought it and have been very pleased.

I rented this out from my library and thoroughly enjoyed it. A good all rounder action film, highly recommended

I bought the DVD because it was on sale at a great price on Ebay. Having watched it, I now understand why it was so reasonable - it wasn't very good! It started fine, but something happened about 1/3 of the way into the film ... it was like they changed director or something? It became all Quentin Tarantino, but not in a good way! Watch "Kill Bill" instead! Pants!

This has to be overall a great film has it has everything you come to expect in a spy film ie action,intrigue,romance,etc
Brad Pitt plays a spy called Mr Smith who unknown to his spouse(Angeline Jouline) who would u believe is also a spy for a different organisation,has a secret life she believes that he has a run mill job and so forth but in actually fact he works for a rival spy organisation to hers.It isnt until his spouse is sent on a mission to retreive something or to kill someone does she realise that in fact her husband is also a spy.The only negative of this film for me was that it took a while for the film to get going and it was slow in some parts.But picking Brad Pitt and Angeline Joulie to play the two main parts of Mr and Mrs Smith was a good decision as they are both good actors/actress in their own right and i really enjoyed the film

Just a cheesy, one-dimensional comic-book movie... another of those childish unrealistic exaggerated movies that are enormously overrated, thanks to the name of its cast. Not funny, not sexy; simply lacks plot, substance and soul.

Here is the great story: Pitt and Jolie are two of the world's most "elite" and "busiest" assassins. Someday they met, and after a while decided to marry unknowing their true-selves. One day during their marriage, truth is accidentally revealed when they realize they've been hired to kill each other by their covert organizations. Then death march begins and their marriage is put to the test when they're assigned to kill each other. This "amazing" story is embellished with jokes and humors on marriage cliches.

I think the movie is aimed directly for the American market. The gimmick is pretty simple: Bring two hot and beautiful, big box-office draws together, then do a good marketing to attract their fans and casual movie-goers, and collect the prize.

If you are a serious movie buff or DVD collector, please beware of this meaningless garbage...

Despite some dodgy reviews, I found this movie very entertaining. The plot may be a bit unbelievable, but I doubt it was ever meant to be a 'deep' meaningful movie. The plot - Two spies who don't know what the other does. If that doesn't indicate what to expect...
Chill, suspend belief and enjoy...

if you like action then this is the one for you, with comedy and action thrown together this movie is non stop........defitnately worth the money.......

The major flaw is credibility. The romance, to start with, is not ‘romantically’ introduced and so we can barely buy it - Brad and Angelina could be siblings, never lovers. Then the story, the actions, even the characters are not credible and very much undetermined in their intentions - we don’t exactly know what all this is driving at.

The film is an allegory about the war that rages between the sexes nowadays, and the constant battles many couples lead relentlessly against one another. And it says clearly that the solution of it all is to enjoy good sex together - but don’t look for anything sexy in this film: it just says it, it doesn’t show it. What you will see is a stream of spectacular gunfire and murderous squabbles. They’re not the best you can find on the market, and they are there just for their own sake.

It’s not romantic, it’s not funny, it’s not thrilling - with Go and The Bourne Identity, Doug Liman has given us much better - but there’s non-stop stunt and action from credits to credits - so that in the end you’ll be entertained all right. Just don’t expect anything else.

After reading the reviews on this, I agree with the percentage. I have literally just watched this film, and WOW! how funny!

The ting i love about mr and mrs smith is that i have a thing about Brad Pitt. It my favourite film. I dot dislike anything about it. I wanted it because i didnt have it on dvd and really wanted it. it was the cheapest i found so i jumped at the chance.

Despite being a typical american movie, I was pleasantly surprised. Mr and Mrs Smith has all the components of a Hollywood film: Love,comedy, fighting, fast cars, guns but most importantly a pretty girl and a hot guy to please viewers of both sexes. Good film and one you can watch more than once

Bought it because I missed it at the cinema, good watching but more for the younger viewer as bits of it were a bit far fetched but all in a good buy, I sold it back on here

This steaming pile will go down as one of the top ten WORST films I have ever had the misfortune to sit through. Completely unbelievable concept, cheesy techo-gimmicks and hammy acting, combine to form one of those Hollywood love-ins in which you can predict exactly what going to happen around almost every corner.
Got about 20-30mins into it and realised it was so poor I didn't even want to see the rest of it, but my “better-half” wanted to keep watching. 30mins later she was laughing at how cheesy it was. Ended up fast forwarding through the last 15mins of rubbish gun fighting to reach the ending, which I could almost mouth, as the dialogue was so predictable. Man! I used to think Brad Pitt as a good actor. Thank God I got the DVD for free - gave it away the next day. Avoid like the Plague

i was surpirsed that i liked this flim as much as i did. its really action packed and funny. if you like action flims then you will like this, but its not just action which can get boring. i would recomend this DVD. i strongly disagree with the other reviews who say its not good. hope this helped

Saw this at the cinema last July and was quite disappointed. Probably the best thing about the film was Brad Pitt!! It was a rubbish storyline and ended abruptly.
Wouldn't recommend on buying!!

Mr. and Mrs. Smith, starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The Plot: A husband and a wife, both leading secret lives. Both make a living as a contract killer, each working for separate major firms. They are hired to kill each other...

By reading the above plot and who stars in this film, I would not blame you to predict this film will be brilliant unfortunately you will be disappointed. This is one of the most disappointing films of 2005, and I regret buying the DVD. The action is cheesy at best of times, and the acting is simply poor, I found it very difficult to get immersed within the action.

The action is way over the top, and utterly farfetched. According to the back of the DVD case it is an action/comedy movie. The comedy is poor and highly predictable. The reason I bought this DVD was that I simply believed that that actors and plot would not be able to fail.

One or two scenes are slightly better, including a high-speed car chase, and also the final fight scene.

I would strongly advise that you do not get this DVD, but if you are a die-hard Brad or Angelina fan, then it might be worth it.

Youve been waiting for a great film from Brad pitt and Angelina Jolie, two very sexy celebs.
Good film just what you would expect though.

I found angelina to be more of a Lara Croft (tomb raider) in this film and Brad a bit of a bumberling idiot.
The film is about a couple who marry and later find out they are both spies/hit men-women for opposing companies. They end up with the hits of each other for around half a million.

The scenes are sexy, funny and cunning but do lack a little plot lining. You can see whats going to happen next before it does and it doesnt really take you by suprise any of the time.

The story is told by the two of them which basically ruins it before it begins as you know the ending straight away.
Personally I find the film a good one to relax to, you know an evening chill with a wine and slice of cake but I wouldnt go out of my way to buy it.

my verdict: borrow it from a friend that has all the DVDs they can get their hands on but save your own money.

Thi film is good in some aspect and also bad in some aspects, its good because of all the action, but bad because you can see what is going to happen in the film, all i would say is it is average its not bad but not excellent either, worth watching though.
