I bought this for my grandma as i have seen the film before and it was a really good and funny film this was yet another good buy and i recomend the seller.
Again because I paid so little for this movie after losing out to three other similar items I believed this would be a bust. However it was funny in many places and while I believe Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand did not get on with each other on the set they combine beautifully on the set, and are easily the best part of the film. The women actresses are the best of this film with Hoffman. More could have been done to ease Robert De Niro's character role because he is totally unlikeable even at the end, and Ben Stiller is also a stilted character. All in all a funny film at its best when the Fockers are in view.
After watching the side-splittingly funny Meet The Parents, I wanted to see the sequel, Meet The Fockers. I managed to get this on Ebay at a brilliant price, there was speedy delivery and good packaging.
The film was as funny as the first but I was able to predict what was going to happen easily. I am very glad I got it for such a good price as I probably won't watch it again.
Entertaining movie but not as funny as Meet the parents. Still worthy of a viewing though. Good perfomances especially by the animals, the actors did okay as well.
Ben Stiller is fantastic again as Greg Focker who is still suffering at the hands of his future father in law who is played by Robert De Niro. Jack ( Niro) decides to drive to Florida in his fancy RV to meet Greg's parents to talk about the wedding plans. Dina , Jack's wife ( Blythe Danner) goes along too for the ride with Greg and her daughter. Dustin Hoffman plays Bernie Focker and Barbara Streisand is his wife, Roz. When the parents meet up, the laughs begin. Bernie and Roz are very open and laid back and Jack is shocked by their lifestyle. Greg cannot keep in the circle of trust as usual and Jack has both eyes on him. The movie has plenty of good laughs and I really enjoyed Hoffman in it. If you enjoyed the first film" Meet The Parents" , you will like this. Worth watching.
This DVD, in my opinion, has to be the greatest comedy I have ever seen (appart from some individual stand-up comediens). Was a little slow to start with, but as the film got underway, my husband and I were in constant laughter, floods of humurous tears and of course the face and tummy ache soon set in!! All the actors and actresses work extremely well together. Even those who you might think should stick to their best forte of singing. What an excellent result of a film. Best comedy ever!!!!!!
Meet the Parents found such tremendous success in the chemistry produced by the diffferant personalities of stars Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller that the film's creators could do same formula no wrong in Meet the Fockers. This time Jack and Dina Byrnes (De Niro and Blythe Danner) climb into Jack's new RV with daughter Pam (Teri Polo), soon-to-be son-in-law Gaylord (Ben Stiller), and Jack's young grandson from his other daughter for the trip to Florida to meet Gaylord's parents, Bernie and Roz Focker (Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand). The potential in-laws are, of course, the opposite of Jack, a pair of randy,fun-lovers.Put Bernie and Roz together with Jack, and watch the in-laws clash as Gaylord feels very uncomfortable. As with the original, there is a sense of joy in watching these actors take on their roles with obvious creativity, and the Hoffman-Streisand-Stiller treble is likeable enough to draw you in.My favourite is the seen around the table when they drop Gaylords foreskin into the fondue. This movie also includes broken backs, love and blue dogs and is definately one of my favourites.
This product was described as imported from abroad.Although not mentioned by the seller, the disc is a copy. When played in a quality DVD player, in my case a Sonie System, the disc is not accepted. This is because the top quality DVD players are programmed not to accept copies.
Used on a cheap system, it does play, and has a good quality picture and sound.
I would not purchase a CD from this particular seller again, simply because I wish to watch DVD's on the Sonie system I have. I therefore need genuine discs.
This is much better that the boring 'Meet the Parents'. They say that sequels are never better than the first one but i assure you this is much better and enjoyable. In this one where greg focker and his missus and inlaws all go in this 'High Tech' Campervan to meet 'the Fockers'. If you have seen 'Date Movie', then there is some similarity to where they got most of their stuff from 'Meet the Fockers'
To be honest, this is a film of which you will hate or like. I like it but to be honest, this is more of a 'Chick Flick', down there with American Pie and the likes.
Humour so low, so repeatative and so predictable that only people who haven't seen REAL humour and comedy would find this funny. So boring I lasted 30 minutes. I couldn't take it any more!!
Another hilarious installment of the Fockers - this time with the Burns parents travelling to Florida to meet the parents of Greg (Gaylord). The Focker parents are brilliantly acted by Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand, two liberal flowers characters who dote on their poor son and have no qualms with revealing the most intimate details of their and his life, much to the dismay of Greg and his wife.
The screenplay is skillfully written, drawing on many of the quirks of the original film (Mr. Jinks, Circle of Trust, Puff the Magic Dragon etc etc), yet retains enough originality and wit to stand on its own as an excellent comedy, even if you havent seen the original.
In my eyes, Ben Stiller can do no wrong - whilst I wasn't that keen on Zoolander (see my review) it still outshines most modern comedies today. Meet the Fockers is another gem from the guys who brought you Meet the Parents (and yes Owen Wilson does cameo - yey!). Once again, Stiller and DeNiro are superb, and whilst in the first film, the female relations essentially propped up scenes, this time we get Barabara Streisand who is superb. I've not seen her in any other films, but my parents think she's great, and I really agree. She definitely has a penchant for comedy and her on screen rapport with Hoffman is superb. Hoffman himself is also a class act and sooooo funny from the minute you see him (doing some sort of Tai Chi in the garden) to the very end. Where this film suffers, is that it has taken the same approach as the first, and it feels a little repetitive for this. New characters can only be relied upon to keep the film going for so long, then you need actual storyline. I still loved it anyway, but its at least a star less than Meet the Parents for the lack of originality (can you have an original sequel?). Very much look forward to Meet the Parents 3 - apparently entitled Meet the Little Focker (please please please don't let it be a remake of Three Men and a Baby).
One hell of a good dvd,can watch It over and over and not get fed up with it.A !st class dvd at just the right price and not a copy.Quick delivery from a excellent e-bayer. Rating Excellent.
Meet the Fockers is even funnier than Meet The Parents! Just when you didn't think it could be any weirder, the tables are turned and the families are about to collide with Ben Stiller still having to run around keeping up appearances. This time, however, he has more to hide... his family's weirdness! Great fun, De Niro is marvelous still and the film is a laugh a minute.
After sequels to Star Wars, Batman, and The Matrix, you were probably thinking why the fock should I bother to buy another sequel DVD or go to watch another sequel at the cinema, and with comedies this has typically be even more true - just think of how you felt when you thought Robin Williams announced he was doing a sequel to Flubber. Well, here is one to prove you wrong. Meet the Fockers is one of the few comedy sequels that delivers.
Stiller, de Niro (back to his best after the comedy-come-film noir Rocky and Bullwinkle), Hoffman (still looking for second base), Streisand (as Mother Focker) are all on tip top form. If you remember Stiller in the first movie he brings all of his puppy-dog innocence to this flick, and of course his deadpan comic style which gels beatifully with the old Streisand slapstick which has not be seen since the late 80s. With Hoffman and De Niro going at it head to head as the two fathers you also get that same feeling as you got when you saw de Niro and Pacino together for the first time on screen in Heat - momentous cinematic moments, but this time you can laugh at the same time!! There is no heat around the corner with this one folks, just a lot of great laughs for all the family, and some for just you (and not the kids!) to enjoy.
