Good story line, alot, and i mean alot of gore, Not for the light hearted. Could of been better, there is some pointless killing, and more killing, did I mension more killing?
this is a very good film to watch with your mates on a dark evemning lol. Get some dronks in an be clued to your chair from begining to end. I am now waiting of rthe new one thats out 28 weeks, i prefer to watch it at home rather than cinama, You can have friends round and have as many botles you want. The film is well worth the time, you will certainly want to watch the follow up.
The fear-factor in this film, as other reviewers have said, isn't from the zombified humans, it's from the 'normal' humans. Sorry to repeat what has been said, but the "I promised them women" line is the scariest in the film and one of the most disturbing I've ever seen.
This is a stylistic masterpiece and is one of the few films that I can watch over again.
As a Brit it is very eerie to see scenery which is so familiar, in such a different way. This is a more "real" horror film than most with characters you can actually believe.
As a huge John Wyndham fan, I can see parallels with Day of the Triffids, but that isn't a bad thing. This feels like a modern adaptation of one of my favourite books.
This DVD always seems to be in the budget range - buy it, I don't think you'll regret it.
They are not ZOMBIES, they are not ZOMBIES. Rant over, humans have contracted a viral infection, they haven't risen from the dead, as some people will have you beleive. However Danny Boyle(Director) has took the zombie genre and gave it a new breath of life. Watching a small group of survivors struggle to get out of a infested London, even amazes me now, how he got London to look deserted. Interesting character bonding, as they struggle to survive. Only christopher eccleston can spoil it at times, with his over acting. Enjoy
This is a modern British classic. An epidemic breaks out...a courier wakes up in a hospital to a deserted London. Great suspense and really makes you think. Definatelky one for the DVD Collection, next to Withnail and I and The Band of Brothers Box set.
Brilliant movie based on the release of a deadly virus that turns everyone into the undead. The first part based in a deserted post holocaust London is brilliantly filmed. Any horror fans out there should love this film.
love the film and oh my god, i received it the next day. how did the e bayer manage that. this e bayer is fantastic. A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A
I bought this as a stocking filler for my 15 year old son. This is one of his favourite films. As this is quite an old film, it was easier to get this on ebay than in the shops, as you had to order it. This is a really good film, even though it is a bit dark. It is quite chilling as you could see this sort of thing happening. We thoroughly enjoy it and even though we have seen it many times it is still really gripping.
I'd seen this movie at the cinema, loved it then. Seeing it was 3 quid, you can't go far wrong. The disc itself is perfect, no 'extra' scenes or bloody 'The making of' documentary.
I thought this film was rubbish for many reasons the main one for being the actors could not act that great and i did not like alot of things they done in the film. Would not reccomend this film if you love animals but its just not a film that even comes close to the top 1000.
This was much better than anticipated with some good acting for what I consider a B movie. Keeps the action going and shows the chaos, self interest lack of good judgement that can occur with a disaster as per Katerina. Photography is good and I can recommend anyone to watch this movie though it is not to be taken seriously.
this is a film that you have to wait until you are ready for it as if you see it in the wrong frame of mind there are too many implausabilities on offer.so best watched with a glass of something and a film buff friend as there are a lot of references to other films..oh and there are some great extras on this DVD
I decided to rent this movie after hearing it was the scariest thing since The Exorcist. DVD had 5.1 surround Sound and Widescreen picture. Interactive Menu etc. Also had special features and an different ending.
The movie starts at an animal research facility where monkeys are caged up. Some people break in to free the poor monkeys thinking they are doing the right thing. But how wrong they are. The monkeys had been infected with a killer virus that makes anyone who catches it totally mad for flesh. The virus is spread through blood. 28 days later we then see the extent of the infection. Empty streets and deserted buildings. But a handful of people have survived the infection. The film takes you on a journey of survivers meeting up and trying to escape the madness of infection and get to safer ground.
There are lot's of twists and turns and jumps to keep you on the edge and you cannot guess what will happen next. The fight for survival is tough but friendship and love still matters. Who will survive??
I did not find this film that scary. But I did enjoy it and found it entertaining and exciting. As I could not guess at all where it was going. Well thought out and I liked the soundtrack. I give it a 8 out of 10.
This movie, which I have been told was a mini series, is excellent. Totally believable, and engrossing. I have watched it 3 times since I got it, and see more things I missed each time. Excellent at Halloween, as we all love to be frightened!
I purchased this because I saw it on television a few months back but didn't manage to catch it from the start. The first time round I missed the ending so the quickest way to get it was here on ebay. I love the concept of the movie about how people trying to do good end up causing something very very bad. The scenes of London absolutely empty are amazing and how they managed to film them with not one person about was incredible. It's a great story and great performances from all the actors involved. Fantastic film and great for a scary night in.
I wanted to purchase this film as I'm a keen zombie film fan and the attraction of seeing a deserted London was too much to bear.
However, the film had massive plot flaws which are hard to explain without giving the film away.. 1. Why so few survivors? 2. Why ,after only 28 days, were the soldiers acting the way they did? Surely they of all people would handle things better.
Also, the box smelt of stale smoke but that's only a minor issue
I had never seen this film before i bought it off of ebay, but it was really good. Being an english film 28 days later gives a new and 'un-american' twist to the appocalyptic horror thriller. The film does occassionally look as though it was made for television, this adds though to a more authentic and realistic product. When I watched the film I felt that I was watching something new and different whilst still being entertained. You don't quite know what is going to happen at the end of the film (could go anyway) and there is an alternative ending on the bonus features that is interesting. I would recommend this dvd to anyone between the ages of 18 and 45 who usually likes films in the horror/thriller genre. I find ebay is a great way to get low-price, good quality dvd's to pad out a collection i am really quite proud of! x
Great film, i started watching it in London on tv one night and nodded off, so i had to buy it. Amusing in places, and also gory in parts so unrealistic but hey thats the reason to watch it!!!!!!!!! Would recomend this film to anyone, Christopher Ecclestone plays a good part in this one. The ebay transaction was smooth enough aswell.
I hated this movie, I was bored from the start and there was only one bit that made me jump. This is meant to be a horror movie but I can't see how it is.
