Black Hawk Down (DVD 2002)

I liked the introductuary dvd which explained the whole meaning of the film.The actors portrayed the charactors with great sympathey and realty,I am not surprised that it won an oscar.It was a shame it took such a long time to come from the e bayer,but I gave them a good feedback and it was well worth the wait.Spider Sue

As this was a true story,I don't no how much poetical licence was given to the facts by the script writer. If it was true then I am completely amazed how the General became a General in Modern warfare, as he obviously must have been watching some of the World War 1 scenes of sending Millions of men to their deaths for no reason. here we have a helicopter shot down,and a considerable number of "good guy Americans"getting killed to retreive their six dead bodies. No matter what the cost we will do it. The film itself was full of action,bit of bodies flying everywhere, and to what end....Very watchable,full of action but you have to ask(SNAFU)Situation Normal all Fcuked Up, why did they waste more life.

excellent film, loads of great action scenes. was hooked all the way through. full of famous stars and quality acting standard

This is a Christmas gift for my Husband so at the moment I cannot comment on the item. I do know that it is a film my husband wanted to see. As for the Seller he seemed very helpfull and I received the item quickly.

Loads of my friends liked this film and I eventually tracked it down for a good price on ebay. Made sure the seller was trusted (good score points and reviewed their feedback) then waited until last minute to place a bid. (Gets a bit hairy when you have to depend on internet connection being ok in the dying minutes of an auction).
Good communication with the seller is also key.
I paid with paypal to cut down on delivery time (chqs can take ages, post to seller, wait for banks/weekends to clear, etc)
Finally got the film and it was as good as they said. Even if not great, for this price, worth taking the risk.
Some people could download a movie, but when the cost is so low on ebay, why bother!

4. Feedback on seller (as this will help others and you in deciding to purchase from them in the future)

Truthfully - I only bought it as the film was actually made in Morocco when we were there in 2001. The filming was done virtually above our heads and the actors used to wave from the open side door of the chopper as it hovered right near our house waiting to chase the 4 wheel drive along the coastal road. Ridley Scott the director actually came to our place to sign a contract with us to paint graffitti all over the newly white-washed walls! Death to America - Kill Clinton - you know the sort of stuff.
We can now watch the film and see quite a few shots of our house - and our dog even runs across the road in front of a convoy of armoured vehicles - which was left in for a bit of authenticity. How I wish we still had the signed contract!
Apart from that - a great war film but a bit gory for my taste.

I really don't know where to start with this film. i'mnot going to lie to you, his film will make you laugh it will make you cry, it will even make you feel really crap inside. And I think that it's all because it's a true story, this film really did leave me in a state of shock.
There were moments where I had to pause it so that I could pull myself together before starting to watch it again. when you see a young solider gunned down in a chopper and then he is stripped and thrown around. There is a pilot that does his best to shoot them but he ends up having the crap beaten out of him while he is trying to hold onto the picture of his daughter.
But I am not putting the film down at all though, it is a brilliant film, but you have to be prepared before you watch it.
The effects, the fact that you see all sides during the fighting, the charactors that each end up going through hell. All contribute to this being a great film. The actors do this film total justice.

Don't get me wrong but this is a great film and has some awsum action secenes in it. The problem that some people have is that is the typical American film, American soldiers go into hosile country, kill lots of enemy soldiers, lose one or two of thier own and then end up coming out ok. There might be a couple of changes to the american version of films, like the fact the americans actually have to call in NATO to save thier as*es, and they don't get the man that was captured back (even though it saights the man was released eventually) but this film has an excellent script and is a must own for anyone who loves war/actions films.

Im not usually a fan of Military/War movies as I usually go for horror films. But this I found amazing. There was never a dull moment. It really showed you how bad war really is. Any kind of war. I have now started a hunt to find more films like it - such as Pearl Harbor. And, no, its NOT a coincidence that Josh Hartnett is in both movies!

as with all reviews i write, im biased when it comes to films starring ewan mcgregor as i totally love him.
black hawk down isn't really my kind of film, it was incredibly well action packed but i like to know whats going on in a film and in this case, why theyre at war, yet i never fully understood that maybe perhaps as im not knowledgeable about foregin countries political issues.
apart from this i loved this film especially when ewan mcgregors character was blown up 3 times, he still managed to stay alive till the end. this film is very entertaining with great special effects and keeps you on your toes at all times with all the explosions and gun fights and the night fight at the end is especially spectacular.
this relly is a great film and should be added to every dvd collection!
