I had this album many years ago about 15 years ago to be honest lol giving me age away, when i see it on ebay i knew it was a must i was telling my son aout it weeks before and wanted to let him hear pink floyd for himself i absolutely love the album there is nothing is dislike about it
An essential part of the Pink Floyd works for any fan. One of the biggest selling albums of all time. Roger Waters takes a leading influence and creates The Wall, an imaginary barrier set between the character Pink and society, where each brick is another mistake in his life. Largely misinterpreted by Americans, "The Wall" and its "bricks" are not about how society works, but as stated earlier the bricks refer to mistakes in the character Pink's life. One of the "must have" albums ever released.
I lost my music collection and am slowly replacing it with the albums that were my favourites. This CD was reasonably priced, was on my list to get, so I went for it. I was very pleased to win the bid and received it quickly, well packaged and in very good condition.
I bought this cd because my daughter had seen a video for Another brick in the Wall on a satelite music channel and became interested in hearing more. She loves it
This is considered to be a quintessential rock opera concept classic which tells the story of ' Pink ' a manic depressive rock star.
The songs flow together and some have of course become stand alone ‘ hits ‘
The story follow Pink’s life covering such topics as his mother, suicidal notions, schoolmasters, dysfunctional relationships, communism, war, music fans and beyond.
Released in 1979 as a 2 record set and followed up by the classic movie.
This cd will draw you in and take you on an emotional rollercoaster. From lows ( depression ) to highs ( excitement )and all points in between. The more I hear it the more I seem to get out of it. The lyrical genius of Roger Waters combined with the musical magic of the rest of the band never tires.
The experience is best of when listened to in it's entirety, preferably on headphones or high end equipment.
This album is a classic. Without doubt the main tracks are Comfortably Numb, Brick in the Wall and Hey You. No where near are chilled as the earlier Pink Floyd albums, but far more accessable than what came after. If you get a chance to watch the movie, some of the tracks may make more sense.
