My kids have just been introduced to it and love it. Feel good tunes for a sunny day or fab driving music Review ID: 10000000011903202 Was this review helpful? A couple of decent songs (the opener,'I Am The Ressurection'...then that's it) some droning, nasally tuneless vocals...honestly,I know it's only opinions & they mean nothing, but really, the veneration of this album beggars belief at times. Very definitely one of the greatest pop/rock albums of all time! It is certainly in my top three favourites and I go back a long way, like to The Beatles early albums. Memorable songs are what we have here. Not only is it fun to sing along with Ian Brown, but the lead guitar licks and the bass-lines are so tuneful that I am impelled to sing along with those too. If you are not familiar with this album, or even The Stone Roses, well, for around three quid inc. P&P why not try a copy. From the moment you hear the intro of first track, I want To Be Adored, slowly emerging from some city noise, you know that you are in for a treat. Report this review Only THE album that changed a genaration, The Madchester scene would not have been the same without the kings of Manchester onboard.SIMPLY - THE greatest album out of Manchester ever, If you had to have one CD to chose to have on a desert island THIS would be it. It united people from two seperate scenes and created a buzz accross Manchester that has yet to be matched. Combining the dulcet tones of singer Ian Brown, the flashy fretwork of John Squire, the solid basslines from Mani and living legend Reni on drums, they had the perfect line up to produce an album that would influence a generation of artists. This album contains classic after classic and is a must buy for any fans of modern bands such as Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, Kasabian etc. who will all namechack this band in their list of influences. Buy it and play it loud. Review ID: 10000000000916277 Was this review helpful? Report this review Page 1 of 1 Ready to share your opinion with others? Write a Review |
