A firm favourite of mine. Reminds me of my holidays in Scotland 2004... The music is so different to anything I've liked before. The vocals, the songs I love them all... I couldn't honestly say there's anything I don't like about this CD and the sound of Keane.
This is one of the best albums i have ever purchased and come across. It's full of breathtaking songs and i can't get over just how great it is. The first time i heard 'Somewhere Only We Know' on the radio back in 2004 really got me thinking this could be the start of a great new band, and boy was i right, then followed the wonderful catchy song 'Everybody's Changing' this song is just magic in every way and really does excel the true talents of those Sussex lads in every way and for a first time buyer i'd really recommend it and i guarantee that after one listen you'll not be able to turn it off. A truly amazing debut from Keane and im sure these guys will make it big in the business that is the world of music.
1. Somewhere Only We Know 2. This Is The Last Time 3. Bend And Break 4. We Might As Well Be Strangers 5. Everybody's Changing 6. Your Eyes Open 7. She Has No Time 8. Can't Stop Now 9. Sunshine 10. Untitled 1 11. Bedshaped

This is a great album. Keane is one of the biggest bands from the 2004. Is not like Coldplay like many people said. Keane have their own style and I like it a lot. All the songs are excellent. My favorite is Bedshaped.
I bought this CD for a sentimental reason. I was at a friend's funeral and a track Everybody's Changing was played, I had never heard it but liked the piece, so I found out who sang it. I was lucky to find it on ebay. On a happier note the whole CD is excellent and I am pleased that I have bought it.
I love Keane anyway so brought Hopes and fears and again was not let down. The music is catchey all the way through and this CD includes my favorites Somewhere only we know and Everybody's changing.
I would recommend anyone who likes chilled out music to buy this and see for yourself how great the music is.
This is an album of memories for me. Some very good friends have been inviting us to their home for BBQ's throughout the summer months and this has always played in the background. I fell in love with it - so much so that I had to buy it. The memories it invokes are special and precious - long balmy evenings in good company, enjoying those special moments when you put the world to rights and just smile..... Aside from the fact i hear it and it makes me smile, the music is beautiful and the lyrics inspired. Try it - I dare you not to fall under the spell. I am told by those who know that this is similar to Travis and Coldplay in genre. I dont enjoy listening to these other bands so cant comment. All I can say is that Keane have a place in my heart and this must be one of my all time favourite albums.
I don't know why I bought this album. But it hasn't stirred anything inside me, and it isn't really recomended for anyone who likes good music. Perhaps buy it for you mum or for a funeral parlour or something??? As is easy listening, non offensive and increadibly boring!
This CD has to be the best album released in the last decade, I bought this copy Hopes and Fears to play in the car and what can I say, from start to finish its catches and hooks draw you in, and leaves you with a pleasant taste in your mouth. It features the top ten hits Everybody’s changing, Bedshaped; This is the last time and the epic Somewhere only we know. A brief look at the band Keane aren’t an over night success, they have been together since 1997 and hooked up at school in their home town near Battle in East Sussex. Keane are Tim Rice Oxley on Piano, Tom Chaplin on Vocals and Richard Hughes on Drums. This CD is a must for music lovers everywhere, and not a guitar in sight, an overall summery is – a breath of fresh air
