Zoolander (DVD 2002)

Clear the runway for Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), VH1's three-time male model of the year. His face falls when hippie-chic "he's so hot right now" Hansel (Owen Wilson) scooters in to steal this year's award. The evil fashion guru Mugatu (Will Ferrell) seizes the opportunity to turn Derek into a killing machine. It's a well-designed conspiracy and only with the help of Hansel and a few well-chosen accessories like Matilda (Christine Taylor) can Derek make the world safe for male models everywhere! Ben Stiller's Zoolander is an endearingly broad, silly, off-the-wall comedy to be enjoyed by beautiful people everywhere. Strike a pose!

So this film follows the exploits of Ben Stillers comic creation Derek Zoolander a dim witted male model. There is an outrageous plot about brainwashing, fashion cartels, child slavery and a plan to assasinate an asian prime minister. But this is all little more than an excuse to get the characters honed on the Saturday Night Live Teevee show up onto the big screen, to let them loose and play about together in a wider setting.

Ignore the central one gag premise of the film that Zoolander is a dufus and you have a very funny film with quite a few laugh out loud moments. Wilson as Zoolanders nemesis, another airheaded male model, Hansel, and Will Ferrell as an evil plotting fashionista are brilliant. (The brainwashing sequence featuring Ferrells character is great). Theres a load of cameo appearances to keep your eyes peeled for; Winona Ryder, Vince Vaughn, Victoria Beckham, Donatella Versace, Moby, Christian Slater and Christopher Walken, amoungst others. Think Bill & Ted meets Pret A Porter and you're getting there. A good stoopidly funny film.

The DVD also contains a collection of out-takes, extended and deleted scenes plus the brief promo skits that were shown ahead of the films big screen release. There is also the obligatory yak track from Stiller. But this is all padding. The film would be enough even on it's own.

this is a great comedy, will have you laughing all the way through but you can only watch it a couple of times before the jokes get old.

you just need to look at the cast of this film to know it'll be hilarious. great film, well recommended, buy a copy now

Ben Stiller is the master at playing likable losers and he does it to perfection in Zoolander. I have seen this films so many times and cannot get enough of it!

Stiller plays Derek Zoolander, the world's top male fashion model who has developed trademark looks like "Blue Steel." Funny thing is, all of his "looks" feature precisely the same purse-lipped pose. His world comes crashing down as he loses VH1's award for top male fashion model. He's such a dimwit, even when his model nemesis Hansel's (played by Owen Wilson) name is announced as the winner he still walks up to receive the award. Zoolander's single digit I.Q. makes him the perfect guinea pig as the unwitting secret weapon of the fashion underworld. An evil underground organisation seek to use him as their "Manchurian Candidate-like" secret killing machine. Led by fashion God Mugatu (Will Ferrell) they plan to off the Prime Minister of Malaysia who has banned child labour, thus crippling the fashion industry's ability to make cheap clothes. Zoolander's innocent Gump-like intellect is the secret to his charm, and although basic math and spelling elude him, he is a master at fashion and hair gel. He lives in a world obsessed with things as trivial as fashion.

This film is laugh-out-loud funny from start to finish and anyone that may quibble about plot minutia is just not ready to have a good time. I already can't wait for the sequel.

I decided to buy it because I had to do a presentation about a film and i love this film. HILARIOUS. It was fast delivery. Good condition. *Thumbs Up*

the story is some male models are getting brainwashed to go kill people who threaten the fasion industary the derek zoolander (stiller) is the latest he is stupid a blank slate which is what they need but all goes wrong for them.

best bit is when derek and his rival have a '' walk off'' the model equivalent to cowboys guns at dawn it is so so so funny

zoolander is a very funny film, lots of stars, great for all the family, this particular video was mega value on ebay, very little i disliked about this film, great all round fun for the whole family.. :)

i have seen this film a few times and think its hilarious. i love comedies thats y i decided to buy it and on top of all that it was a good bargain.

Luv Ben Stiller so its a sure winner! This film is a Sunday rainy afternoon watch and laughter! He hasnt made a crap movie yet!!

Good starting price. I did really want the dvd but couldn't get it before on ebay because people kept bidding higher then me :(
But as I said before it was a very good starting price.

Had copy on video, film is a must watch and should be a cult classic therefore I decided to upgrade to DVD.

I got this film because I like owen and Stiller but it's strange and confusing. it makes you laugh about 5 times..the rest is rubbish

I bought this for my daughter as she watched the film on tv and enjoyed it, so she wanted the dvd so she could watch it again when she liked.

The product is in good working order and the quality of picture is good.

This is a good film, however the seller is a complete and utter idiot baboon faced turd. thick as pigs!

This is one of those modern classic comedies! Its great and fits nicely alongside films like Ancore Man and Borat.

Ben Stiller never fails to disappoint and if you have a sense of humour you will love this. There is a lose plot running through it but its one of those films that is not meant to be took seriously, excellent Sunday afternoon viewing or if you just fancy a night in.

a great comedy with a twist in it, ben stillar is a number 1 fasion guru who has a slight evil streack cant say much more without giving the plot away, enjoy i did.

Loved this DVD, it was so funny, Ben Stiller at his best. Owen Wilson also played a great part. It really took the mickey out of the whole Supermodel/fashion industry, with lots of cameo appearance from celebs such as Victoria Beckham, other models and designers who obviously don't take themselves too seriously.
