You've Got Mail (DVD 1999)

I bought this film because it has a "feel good factor" about it. I think we all need it in this day and age. Buying from ebay made it easy for me. I didn't have to trail around the shopping precinct. I was very please with my purchase and the quality excellent as it was new.

You've Got Mail is a modern day love story- so relevant and powerful in today's world of communication. It tackles the situation of online romance, the fears, the joys and even the problems that it can bring. Hanks and Ryan delivery a great performance and this film deserves a lot of credit. The plot is, as with most romantic comedies, predictable from the start. It ends how all "romcoms" end and tries to tug at the heart strings in just the same way. The film does however deliver a chemistry between the two main characters in a unique way and, with two such fine actors you can't help but let yourself get carried away with it.

For all those that can relate to online romance, for those that find themselves sceptical or for those that can't help sitting down to watch a romantic film play out- You've Got Mail is a unique and fulfilling film.

It was hard not to give this movie a 10, but since I have only given out about 20 10's in all the movies I have ever seen - thousands, a 10 here would have been a little too generous.

Though, it is difficult to find fault, I suppose it is fair to say that the movie didn't always have full steam - especially early on. Still, even during those times, it was interesting. I mean, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. What else do you need?

Additionally, I didn't laugh very much. Not that I was required to, but this genre would, after all, be considered a romantic comedy. Despite the lack of laughs, it was as feel good as it gets.

The movie was blessed with two great actors, a creative idea, excellent writing and directing. And, the ending was one for the ages. I might have chosen to "tweak" it a little, but it was about as good as you will ever see - assuming you like romance. I do!

A good film, suitable for family viewing. No violence, swearing etc. Good Romantic comedy, one of my wife's favourites. Nice to see Meg Ryan before Botox as well.

I absolutly LOVE thise movie. everything about it is wonderful. MEG RYAN and TOM HANKS have so much CHEMISRTY and are such GREAT ACTORS that this movie is a show-stopper. I've watched it so many times and every time I watch it I absoutly love it!! I get more out of it ever time I watch it, and I just think meg ryan is so cute!! The supporting cast is full of funny, realistic characters, and the story line is really ironic and cool. WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!

Very funny film, Meg Ryan is fantastic in any film but comedy is her best, Tom Hanks I love his acting anyway. I like comedy classics and to me this is one of the best romantic comedy to cheer anybody up.

excellent love story with a twist loved it.I could watch it over and over again.tom hanks and meg ryan play believable parts and the whole story is a lovely love story.

fantastic film....a nice film with no blood and guts and gorey stuff one of tom hanks best films I think...and meg ryan is once again a great actress...this is a nice film and not too girly...great to watch with the family as there are no sexual scenes to worry about...its a remake of the film called little shop on the corner..and a very good remake it is..

I purchased this item in good faith as a DVD to view on my Panasonic DVD player, instead all I get is.May not be playable in this area. I cannot even play it on my PC. Is this because its a very old American issue? I have contacted seller. Surprise surprise. No reply

I usually like movies starring Meg Ryan, she is a brilliant actress. When I watched this film, my children (7 + 11) joined me and even they liked it. I was a bit surprised, but nevertheless. It is worth watching!!!

if you like romance then this is the film for you im a sucker for romantic films seen it loads but thort id by it for when i get a alone moment to relax great film .

This is my favourite film of all time. It's so romantic and Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan work so well together. My favourite bit is just before the "reveal" when Tom says to Meg that if he had met her some other way then he would have not waited 24 hours to wait to call her to take her out for a drink, lunch, dinner for ever and ever as long as they both shall live - swooooon.

A cute rom-com that offers a different side of a fairytale story. Very enjoyable, two lead actors mix well together.

I rented this film and i thought it was excellent.. I made me laugh and cry and really good made film.

Meg and Tom act fantasic together.. Right from the start it had me glued to the screen...

I will now go and buy this film on DVD and add it to my DVD collection...

A real classic...

Wonderful, heart warming and very funny romantic film. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are really suited for this film they are great as always.

A true pleasure to watch and personally for me brings back wonderful memories which i will cherish about how me and my boyfriend got to know each other and finally meet. Best time of my life.
I am so pleased i finally got round to buying it and watching it on DVD. One of my best purchases ever.

I bought this dvd on e-bay recently to replace a video. I keep a selection on 'ironing' films - ones that the family won't watch but I like!
A great chick flick that makes me smile stupidly when watching. Makes the ironing go faster!

This film was good, it had happy endings which always sells a movie. But isn't it a coincidence that they just happened to find each other out of all the other people on the interenet!
And also the last part were they were friends, how could Ryan's character forgive Joe?
Apart from that it was a great film.

I bought this DVD as it's a joint favourite of ours and wanted a proper copy. Tom Hanks is at his best as is Meg Ryan, warming the cockles of our hearts with a romantic chemistry served with liberal helpings of humour. I'm not one for watching extras on the making of a film or commentary from the director etc but those who like that sort of thing may be diappointed. In my opinion though the film is worth the money anyway, and knowing too much about behind the scenes can take away some of the magic.

...is why I love this movie, the story is totally believable and chemistry between the two lead actors, Ryan & Hanks is great, not too mention the feel good factor, very cosy especially round Xmas time
