One of my favourite childhood films, I can vividly remember watching this at the cinema and being terrified by the special effects! (The stained glass window scene was the first EVER computer generated special effect!).
The story is well paced and exciting throughout, it feels quite similar in tone to the original Indiana Jones Trilogy.
Fantastic fun!

Great Modern Kids ClassicI loved this movie when it first came out and thought that the SFX were really good. Recently it was on tv and I was able to share it with my 9 year old. I recently seen some movies from my own childhood that I had fond memories of only to be disappointed - but not with this movie! I still loved it (especially the cake scene in the graveyard) and it has kept its magic for the present young generation as my son felt the same - which is why we bought a copy.
It's a great adventure, introducing a well-known famous literay character as a teen. It worked well on the screen - but I was very disappointed that there weren't anymore made. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a bit of adventure and are still young at heart!
