Excellent value for hours of family entertainment from a real TV classic.
If I bought this in the shops it would have cost five times more at the very least. I am well pleased.

This classic british gem of a comedy series ran from 1973 to 1985 with two spin off series grace and favour.The series starts with the pilot episode named after the shows title "Are you being served" plus five 25min episodes which make up the first series. Like every hit series it starts with a bang and is there's an instant liking to the actors on screen. The charecters are exactly the same in the pilot episode as they are in the the main series which shows how an impact the main stars of the show had with the public. Usually actors who appear in pilot episodes are sometimes replaced and changed in the broadcast version by series producers & writers. This series is a must for fans and when you watch the first episode there's no stopping.

This is a great Dvd, for many reasons; one of them being that it includes the Pilot of course.
The quality of the episodes is very good.
The reason I bought it though was to own the episode which stars Joanna Lumley on a Special perfume display-A must-have if you're a 'Joanna' fan.
There wasn't anything I disliked about the dvd at all.
This is a very good buy but be aware that prices vary greatly for exactly the same product depending on how and where you purchase!

I brought this DVD because i do like the classic comedies, the way they can get away with their little sayings that nowadays would not be allowed. I do feel that comedy today is just not the same and have made a point of getting the whole of this collection together. Each character in this DVD brings their own personality into it but it is hard to imagine 'Pauline Fowler' being young. A must for all those people who like a good laugh, the old ones are the best.

I bought this dvd of Are you being served for my 10 year old daughter to watch, as she wanted to see Wendy Richard when she was young.
Well she laughed and laughed so much that i have put a bid in on the second series. its important for me to let my kids see the things that had me laughing as a child, as you dont get comedy genius that that any more.
Recomended to everyone, this dvd will not dissapoint.

Classic TV comedy with all you're favourite characters, Captain Peacock, Ms. Brahms and the irrepressible Molly Sugden as Mrs. Slocome. Does seem quite dated now, but as a present for an older relative it is just the ticket.

I purchased this dvd, as I have always been a fan of British Classic TV Comedy. I remember watching as many of the original series as possible - I did not possess a Video Recorder in the days when the programmes were first broadcasted, so when I saw this dvd on Ebay I was delighted to bid for it and win it! It was interesting to see the pilot episode and to see how the fictional characters were displayed to bring them into a long longing comedy classic, now one of the icons of TV comedy!

I bought this DVD as I loved the TV series when it was first shown and I thought my 7 year old daughter would like it and she does. It is now watched every week and she wants the rest of the series. Although it may not be 100% politically correct by todays standards it is good family entertainment. Anyone who has worked in a shop or office will be able to relate to the staff and what happens to them, and for those of us old enough to remember the fashions, well we now know how daft we looked.

A little gem .I never really had an opinion about Are You Being Served , infact it was a programme that didn't appeal to me . Then one night , when at home I noticed that the film version of Are You Being Served was on TV . With nothing else on I decided to watch it . I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed the film . I started to watch a couple of episodes on UK Gold and then decided to buy a dvd of Are You Being Served . What better place to start than with the first series . Even though the pilot episode is in black and white it's still really good and the episodes ( in colour !) make me laugh . Plenty of saucy innuendo like , " You've caused quite a disturbment in the trouser department " and " Mr's Slocombe's pussy " . My favorite episode is " His and Hers " guest starring Joanna Lumley . I would also recommend the film version .
