Yanni's ethereal keyboard work is backed by an immense orchestra, vocalists, a choir, and various world instruments including didgeridoo, doodook, charango, and bamboo saxophone. The music is atmospheric and grand, expressing a variety of emotional states, from the triumphant opening song, "Deliverance," to the romantic, Spanish-tinged "Love is All," sung soulfully by Vann Johnson: "I am breath against this fire/And I will not turn away/I'm waiting for time to carry me/Like a tempest to the sea." TRIBUTE is an album of optimistic, dynamic music which seems geared to generate a wide variety of emotional responses from its listeners.
