X-Men 2 (DVD 2003)

This is a great DVD, my son's watches a lot of films and he has a tendancy to watch them over and over. It's better and cheaper than renting from the Video Shop.
X-men is a fantastic film, he has seen all of them now. It was also great to have a recap on what happened in the first 2 films, before going to see the recent one.
Another plus, it's soo cheap to buy on Ebay!!!!!!

My son wanted this film so badly it was really starting to annoy me, so i came on Ebay, found a copy of it at a great price that i couldnt walk away, so i bid on it straight away, i received it very quickly through the post, and my son was so happy. I did have some contact with the seller after buying the DVD as i was so pleased with it, just to say thank you.

My son has watched it several times now and the disc is in immaculate condition, the picture and sound quality is spot on. An excellent item to have bought.

As trailers go, X-Men made quite an impression. The original, which director Bryan Singer refers to as "almost like a preview for X-Men 2", took $300 million and injected new life into the superhero genre. The upside of its unexpected success was that it made a follow up a forgone conclusion (Singer stresses "X-Men 2 is not a sequel"). The flipside was that it raised expectations to an almost impossible level. Though X-Men 2 doesn't quite achieve the impossible, it comes pretty close.

Singer has rounded up all the usual mutant suspects from the first movie while adding a few new ones to keep things fresh. In the intervening three years Rogue (Anna Paquin) has grown up, Storm (Halle Berry) and Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) have had makeovers and the X-Jet has had an upgrade. The most significant change is the addition of a new enemy, which comes in the formidable form of William Stryker (Brian Cox) and his more alluring sidekick/back kick/front kick martial artist Yuriko Oyama, known more menacingly as Deathstrike (Kelly Hu).

The action begins with another new face: a blue one, with yellow eyes and pointy ears belonging to Nightcrawler, aka Kurt Wagner (Alan Cumming). Wagner's prehensile tail is more convincing than Cumming's cod German accent, which lends the hoofed teleporting mutant an element of campness. When he breaks into the White House and threatens the President, it is Stryker who is brought in to deal with the mutant problem.

One story line that was touched upon in the original, but is developed more fully here, is Wolverine's (Hugh Jackman) search for his past which haunts him in flashbacks and takes on a fresh clarity when he encounters Stryker and his base underneath a dam at Alkali Lake. The bunker proves a poignant setting for the film's finale and the site for Wolverine's showdown with Deathstrike whose powers are not only equal to his, but provide further proof of his origins.

Having spent the first film feeling their way, in X-Men 2, everyone from the director to the terrific cast, to the production team convey a greater confidence and, with more time and money to play with, the results are a slicker, more sophisticated film. In addition Singer has succeeded in his desire to make it "edgier, darker, funnier and more romantic." The only things it lacks in comparison with its predecessor are the element of surprise and an unanswered question at the end. Which poses the question: will there be an 'X-Men 3'? Let's hope so.

luved this film still funny thinking this was only a cartoon when i was younger and i'm so glad they did such a good job transvering it onto the big screen well worth a watch even if ya dont like the comic book thing it is a really good action film big thumbs up for it

X-men are my favourite ever films, I will never get sick of watching them. I know pretty much every word, and I'm normally rubbish at sitting still and just watching a film for ages, so this shows how brilliant it is!

I loved the first film and this one was just as good!

If you like futuristic movies like Spiderman, Battlestar Galattica or even Star Wars, then you will love this series of films.

Good against evil, love interests, world domination, odd looking characters and plenty of action then you need to sit down and watch this DVD.

i decided to buy this dvd becouse i needed it to complete the set. but other than that item ebay is a good market you can find some really good bargins but you have to take your time and look for them. read the sellers feedback before bidding it can help you alot. thank you for your time reading this take care and happy bidding.

I really like these type of science fiction films due to their special effects and story production. There is no doubt about it that these type of movies remind me of my childhood when I used to buy comics and read them for a thousand times!! I decided to buy this one especially for my son who also likes to watch all the Marvel movies!

this is the best all-round x-men movie. not as stunning as X-3 but more storyline based action! definet must have for marvel fans
