Wasn't sure what to expect but more than satisfied. Just shows what can be done with a low budget, good acting and a story that could just be true to life. Or at least pretty damn close.
Rourke is superb and well, boys, just check out Marisa Tomei. I assume that's her body!!!
This is not WWE but certainly gives an insight into pro wrestling and the storyline is very believable. In fact, the bonus feature proves some of this. Also worth the watch. And I can quite imagine the storyline being transferred to many other scenarios.
Some of the scenes look a bit 'cheap' but that's what give the film its realism and grittiness. I can associate with Rourke's character in my own life and I guess that's why I am a fan of the film too.
Definitely worth watching and I will be again soon.

My wife,who isn't a wrestling fan (not that you have to be to watch this film) and I watched this film. We both thought it was a little slow for the first 20 minutes or so. At the end we both agreed it was a cracking film. I am not going to spoil the film for you but one thing i will say is that you cannot help but feel for "The Ram". This is one thats staying in my dvd collection,

Takes a while to get into this movie, but you can not help being wrapped up in the story, and feeling very connected to the character "the Ram" at the end of the movie.
The movie cinemetography may annoy some people, it is kinda filmed "documentary style" (although the film its self is not presented as such. This however does not take away from the film, and is a great movie it does not cliché wrestling fans, and will be very rewarding for wrestling fans and non wrestling fans alike.

I was surprised I liked this film as its about Wrestling - But I really enjoyed it seeing the gritty side of Wrestling and what happens to most Wrestlers after there Careers are over 5 Star for me

I bought this firstly because I have always been a fan of Mickey Rourke's acting ability. After his career highs and lows I was really interested to see how he was able to start getting his career back on track. His physical and emotional committment to this film is obvious and it gives him the chance to show his very emotional acting skills. My son used to be a big wrestling fan so I have been familiar with a lot of wrestling characters and their lives, so this added a more gritty, behind the scenes view of wrestling. If anything, the film was surprisingly shorter than I thought it would be. Don't know if that's to do with budget or not. But still worth watching and be prepared for a bit of blood!

What a fantastic film, had being itching to see this for a while and once I saw it, it certainly didn't dissapoint.
