Wolf Creek (DVD)

This is a very powerful psychological horror. I've seen the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I think this film is better because the whole atmosphere created by the director is so realistic. You feel as if the event is happening to you and the evil guy in the film comes across as helpful and trustworthy like most real serial killers are which is why they manage to trap people. There is practically no music in this film, its fear factor relies on superb acting, great camera work and a great director. I am a horror collector (old & new) and I thought this film was truly scary. I would class it as a disturbing film because it brings home the reality that evil people like the guy in the film really do exist.

I have been waiting to see this film for sometime. Excellent, really enjoyed it.
I thought it was a bit slow at first, but once it got going I found it really hard to believe it was based on a true story. I mean, are there really psychos in the out-back like that. YES. Also to believe this Psycho has never been caught and is still roaming round killing people.
The film left me thinking what really has happened to all these people who have disappeared while in the Out-Back?
The film runs for about 90 minutes, and is an edge of your seat film.

one of the greatest horror movies in a long time.in the same vein as texas chainsaw,halloween,etc,this is very original and unlike some of the new batch of horror movies made for teenagers,it's very atsmospheric and scary and extremely brutal.well worth checking out.

This was a realy good edge of the seat film to watch but also had me quite scared for days after wards. I am quite a fan of true life films which is what made me buy it but this was a bit too much for me. If you are into horror films this is a good one to get, but if you are a little squeamish i wouldnt recommend. I will probably not watch it again but thats more because i found it to much for me. Not taking any thing away from the actors as obviously they convinced me but having seen it it is etched in my mind more than any other film i have seen before and as i now know it i would probably scare myself to death watching it again lol. Anyway hope this review can help you decide if its for you. If so hope you enjoy it.

Set in the Australian Outback this film starts out as a road movie. One bloke and two girls get a cheap car and set off from one side of Oz to the other. One creepy town later they visit Wolf creek crater, a local tourist attraction. It all goes horribly wrong for the trio after this. I won't spoil it but the demise of one of the victims is the most disturbing thing I have seen in a while. If you are into films like Saw, Hostel et al. this will be right up your street. Have fun!

Although it is story building, the start is very slow. However, the tale develops at a good pace with introduction of the agressor. There are some shocks, but not that much compared to some seventies horror films. Overall not a bad film, all the more thought provoking, knowing it is based on actual events.

the acting was poor. bit too bloody for my likeing. two girl.s out in the back wood with a killer. no one see or hears any things.same old story the two girl.s get kill. why not for once just let some one get away. i did not like the film but others out there might find it really good.

Brilliant Film, very enjoyable tense and horrific.
Great that it was based on a true story very thought provoking and believable.

The film is about two English girls with an Australian boyfriend traveling across Australia in a old Ford Granada Estate. They stop to explore Wolf creek which is dominated by a Huge Meteor crater.When they get back, the car won't start and they are stuck until a 'good samaritan' turns up in a large pick up truck {or ute as they call them}.The man tows them back to his place,which is a disused mine project.After the teens get comfortable, the man ties them up in different places around the area.However he places all of them in a way which allows all of them to escape.When they escape he hunts them down and kills the girls but the boyfriend escapes to tell the tale.It isn't until one of the girls breaks back into his compound that she discovers that the man has killed many times before.I like the fact that the australian outback is used to help create the atmosphere of the film. I can't find anything to dislike about this film which i brought out of interest.

seen this film on tv a while ago and always wanted to see it again. It is very graphic and is definetly edge of the seat stuff, not for the faint hearted but definely worth watching!

Good movie, a watch once only though. Not for the faint hearted at all. Graphic scenes and very disturbing as based on true events. Possibly for viewers who donot find movies like Saw or Hotel too unnerving you would'nt find this too bad. Certainly played on my mind for a bit, you can well believe this kind of thing happening in the Australian outback in the middle of nowhere and that was the disturbing part- sadistic killers out there who have never been caught as too huge an area to try and even begin to know where to start.

i have not actually wayched this dvd because it was bought as a present. but the person has said that it was a really good film. i thought it was a really good price and for the postage and packaging.

I brought the film because both myself and my Auntie love horror films and she had watched it and told me about it.It was not really spooky but very blood thirsty, lots of gore, which i also like to watch.( my husband thinks i have a problem!) It was well made and i liked to watch the making of the film afterwards as you see the charactures differently.The only thing i didn't like was the fact that it ended and also the ending was wierd, but i would recomend it to any creepy, blood gorey film watcher out there.

Heard about wolf creek during a visit to australia. Come home and looked on e-bay and found it straight away. Really scary movie but had to watch it. Not sure if it is a true story but it did leave you wondering!!!

I rated this film good as it is good for a horror, although i found it absolutley horrific! It also wasnt until after i watched it that i realised it was based on a true story, which scared me even more! Dont get me wrong, i do enjoy a good horror but this one is not entertainment, its sick.
In my opinion it is the scariest thing i have ever seen and it really does have you sitting on the edge of your seat.
