I think this is one the best horror films I have seen in a long time. Its life like and believable, and the back packers end up in their predicament by doing what most people would do in their position. Not by splitting up and doing ridiculous things that a lot of horror films use to get their victims in position. The acting is brilliant as well, especially John Jarratt - completely believable as the psycopath. Again, very realistic - the sort of character that seems a bit weird but harmless, until you see his darker side. Espcially creepy when you consider the number of backpackers that go missing each year, and the case of Peter Falkonio. I would highly recommend this film!

I found this film very slow to start. It takes a good half an hour to get into it. Once the action starts, you can't turn it off. Not recommended for the faint-hearted. The worst part of it is knowing that this is based on true events - there are parts that are not very pleasant. If you can get hold of a copy, I do believe it is worth watching.

Have to say a very very good horror, based on true events which make it all the more worrying. Beautifully made with just the right amount of jumpiness has definately put me off back packing knowing there is twisted individuals like that really out there. Well worth a watch.

An entertaining movie about two English girls and an Australian chap driving to see the worls biggest crater. Thriller, and is very grim in places - desolate theme throughout.

Seemed a bit to short for me, just when the action was really getting going it ended! Average.

Gut wrenching horror, that has an element of reality thrown in the mix, if "hills have eyes" is your cup of tea, you NEED to see this

Brilliant thriller. Takes a while to get going but plenty of suspence and gets a five star for keeping you on the edge of your seat. Based on true events aswell.

Synopsis: -

Wolf Creek is an Australian horror film inspired by the Backpacker murders that took place in the 1990s.

The story revolves around three stranded travellers who find themselves held captive by a serial killer the Australian outback.

Review: -

I must say I was genuinely and pleasantly suprised. The suspense is good, the main bad guy is disturbing right from the off and the horror scenes are brutal and wince-worthy.

You get an un-nerving feeling of isolation and unease right along with the characters as a result of all the panoramic outback shots and the creepy behaviour of their host and the various hints and revelations as to his history in his home.

It's one of those movies where you switch from blaming the victims for their stupidity to rooting for their survival as the story progresses.

I particularly liked the gritty feel that is lost to so many Hollywood blockbusters.

It's retailing in 2009 at about £5 new in stores so it's worth checking ebay to see if you can get a copy for a couple of quid.
