I decide to buy this movie as it is an absolute classic, I have watched it millions of times so wanted to be able to watch it millions more! Meg ryan is brilliant makes me laugh
Good film, but showing it's age a bit. I bought it as it was recommended to me by a friend. Not sorry I bought it. Love meg ryan and the faking it scene is hilarious. you know where the film is going from the start. Chick flick lovers should buy.
This film is a much watch for anyone who loves rom/coms. I purchased it for my 16 year old daughter who had never seen it. This is one of the best feel good movies idea for a rainy Sunday afternoon. A must see for all you girlies out there.
Brimming over with style, intelligence and flashing wit, this splendid and irresistible film from director Rob Reiner (A Few Good Men) is one of the best loved romantic comedies of all time. Featuring dazzling performances from Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal, Carrie Fisher and Bruno Kirby, exceptional music from Harry Connick Jr, and an Oscar nominated screenplay (1989) by Nora Ephron (Sleepless in Seattle), When Harry Met Sally is an explosively funny commentary on friendships, courtships-and other hardships-of the modern age.
Will sex ruin a perfect relationship between a man and a woman? That's what Harry (Crystal) and Sally (Ryan) debate during their trip from Chicago to New York, and eleven years later, they're still no closer to finding the answer. Will these two best friends ever accept that they're meant for each other...or will they continue to deny the attraction that's existed since the first moment When Harry Met Sally?
I love this film and purchased it for a friend who'd never seen in. She's a fan now, too. Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan at their peak and very best. Most modern romantic comedies can't touch this one - it's the fantastic script and skill of the writers that make it such a hit, coupled with Billy Crystal's superb sarcastic character. The most famous scene in movie history? Meg Ryan's "faked orgasm" in a crowded restaurant. Priceless.
This is way up there with the best romantic comedies of all times. Mildly obnoxious Harry (Billy Crystal) and endearingly eccentric Sally (Meg Ryan) go through alternating periods of love/hate over the course of several years, adding fuel to their arguments over whether a man and a woman can ever be just friends. The supporting cast--particularly Carrie Fisher and Bruno Kirby--add to the sense that these characters are people you know, which has you laughing, crying, and rolling your eyes right along with them. This movie retains its classic charm across several viewings, making a DVD purchase worthwhile.
