Happy 70s tea-time memories

This is the first season of the original Japanese NTV series and the second is available as a matching DVD box set.
It is based on David Weir's adaptation of the classic Chinese novel.
After rebelling against the abuses and greed of their then government, the forces of Liang Shan Po, led by the heroic Lin Ch'ung begin to gather strength in preparation for their ultimate battle in their war against the powers that be.
With colourful action, acrobatics and heroism all honour-bound in chivalry; this war of good against evil brings back warm memories from when it was initially screened during those happy tea-times of the 1970s.
More serious than Monkey, each episode is full of gems of ancient wisdom read by Burt Kwouk and each adventure blends nicely from one to the other as the story builds....
Bear in mind that the series was filmed in the mid-70s and there is only a certain amount of improvment that DVD technology can make.
Each DVD contains two slightly remastered episodes, some stills and character biographies. Fully recommended.
