Outstanding ... Who Watches The Watchmen ?????

Rorschach's Journal. October 12th, 1985:
Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "no."
And so it begins ... a relentless and brutal attack on the senses !!! A mvie that is shocking, thought provoking and hugely entertaining at the same time. Brutal and beautiful too ... a story of heroes and anti-heroes and underneath it all some very strong messages about society itself.
I first read the award winning graphic novel many years ago and the movie more than lived up to expectations. It's complex, dark and restless characters are not the usual "superheroes" we see in the movies and the world of the Watchmen is not too different from the society we know today. The movie is dark and violent and at times unrelentless in it's attack on the senses ... the murder of The Comedian is particularly brutal.
The disillusionment of the Watchmen is clear ... a disbanded group of heroes who have gone their seperate ways. Whilst some have found success others are living lives of regret. Rorschach, however, is still active and on his own mission to find the truth behind the lies.
Highly recommended ...
