Fantastic dvd, great for kids as it teaches moral standards, that are so important in our present crazy and violent society.
I would say the world was in a far better state when these sort of programs were being broadcasted rather than the non sense that is called entertainment
today.
Decided to purchase Waltons because as a child I watched and enjoyed it.
An all together great family program, we and kids love it.

i absolutely loved watching the waltons as a child every sunday. i purchased this fantastic series on dvd as it shows episode after episode without any delay, great to watch on wide screen television. this is a must buy for all walton fans, i have even got my three children in to watching. it is certainly a blast from the past and i will certainly be buying more of the series. it makes a lovely change from watching anything with fighting and unnappropriate language, if you have a young family then buy the waltons, recommended for any age.

Ive always dreamed of a Waltons life style, and love the philosophy behind their lifestyle. A family with true traditional values, working together, family community spirit, etc, etc.As I've got 9 kids, the children sharing, helping together, learning life from each other, etc. was close to my heart!!My older kids tease me about my "Walton" ideals, so this was a way to get my younger ones to sit with me and watch some traditional values!! We've worked our way through "Anne of Green Gables" too- another olde-worlde video experience, too. My teenage formative years were influenced by the proverbial "Goodnight John","Goodnight Mary Ellen ","Goodnight Jim-Bob"........oh what simple pleasures..........nowadays it's all about x-boxes, Wii's, killing games, alien destruction, being out on the street all the evening, underage drinking, drugs, etc. Everyone should have the experience of a "Walton"lifestyle, if only during a quiet chill-out time in front of the T.V.with their Mum!!!!!!!

Bought this half expecting to be disappointed but the Waltons Series 1 hits the ground running - it feels like a well established program where all of the cast gel with one another and their roles. I was amazed at the quality of the acting - these actors really seem to be living their parts.
No need to go into any detail about the episodes except to say that there is a certain amount of 'tweeness' but the family values message comes across so naturally that you come away feeling like you should try just a little harder to be a good, kind, worthy person yourself! (Ugh, I don't believe I just wrote that)

These dvds take me back to the time when I used to watch the Waltons at the weekend when I stayed with a dear uncle of mine, many years ago now, he sadly passed away in May.

I bought these dvds and they are for a christmas gift for my best friend who also used to watch them.

Always a good series to watch, showing a large family caring, sharing and getting the best out of life, despite lack of money.

The Waltons have been a favourite of mine for years. Watched all again when shown on Sky One in 90's and was just thinking other day how I'd love to see them again, so thought I'd buy first series and get all nostalgic!
Watched first one yesterday, brilliant!Will be back to buy more in due course.

Really enjoyed the box set. Good valuefor money and what was nice was I watched this series as a child and so did my husband and our teenagers watched it just now with us. Good family values never go out of fashion.

I was a big fan of the Waltons in the 70`s. Anybody who was this hasn`t dated. Highly recomend.Love it.

Ive not watched yet but know i will remember most episodes as i was glued to this as a young child as even as older adult when it was re-shown. So im biased really. This is a wholesome, good, clean, family viewing. Though some would say old-fashioned and boring. How nice in this day and age. I will wait until a cold, wintery day or nite when kids are in bed and i get some time and peace to curl up and return to my childhood days. ah bliss !!

It brought back positive memories of the early 1970s. Just as I remember it... The reproduction is enhanced by colour. We only had black & white TVs in those days ! I'm tempted to buy thr later series. M G Miles .

We remember this when it was first on TV in the '70's, and reluctantly confess to liking it! I say "reluctantly", because let's face it; nowadays it seems to fly in the face of everything else we see on our TV screens. There's no murders, no smut, no rapes, no violence in these stories - so what, do I hear you ask is the point of watching it? Well, isn't it a real antidote from the garbage on telly nowadays. There's nice, family-orientated storylines, and plots that often encourages the viwer to really think about issues. Perhaps the Waltons is just what more of us need nowadays! lol
We enjoy this, and it brings back happy memories for Kitty & I, growing up in 1970's Britain, when it was a very popular series.

While on holiday in the USA we watched the Waltons daily while having breakfast in bed. Watching it again brings back a few fond memories.
Apart from that, it is a program that instills very high morale standards; something that is lacking in global society today. A great program.

l have always loved watching the Waltons - childish but an escape from every day life. The 1 st series comes in 5 dvd's, with 6 episodes on each disc - so far l have watch l disc - it's great to have a 50 min programme to watch whenever you wish -which can be slotted inbetween regular tv programmes

this was a really good family dvd about a family and their struggles through life which was hard as they had 7 kids can't wait to get the 2nd series i bought this as i loved this when i was a kid

Grew up with John Boy and family and brings back good memories. Before the days of video so not seen all the episodes.

I wanted to start a collection as it was something we watched years ago. THE SELLER WAS VERY HELPFULL SO THAT WAS THE REASON WE WENT BACK TO PURCHASE THE OTHERS

Bought as a Christmas present for an avid waltons fan.
Extremely good value with in excess of 20 episodes of good quality entertainment.

I just like watching the waltons i want to collect the whole series if i can. I remember watching it when i was younger.

I bought this video to take me back to a gentle world where people had nothing and shared everything these days we have so much but share nothing and people seem to be jealous of what any one else has. what a lot of lessons we can learn from the Waltons!!

Became lost in the world of the Waltons once again!
Wonderful, took me back to my childhood, when I eagerly awaited the next episode.
A feel good series where the security of the family help to solve many a problem.
Can't wait to continue reliving the memories in future series!
