Walking With Dinosaurs (DVD 2000)

I loved this series, it was so interesting to watch. Everything about the series looked real to me. The information and the way they incorporated the dinosaurs not only looking alive but mating, feeding, fighting...it just made for a real good TV programme to look forward to. The CGI was accurate and realistic and they also used animatronics for close shots of head shots which just made it more believable that this was a current day documentary rather than a boring lecture on a animal that lives millions of years ago. Well researched and well thought out. Gives you the chance also to see the smaller and less well known dinosaurs rather than just the big names so to speak. Generally a well rounded programme for adults and children.
Much better than jurassic park!

Great narration and as best you will get for all the effects. Viewing the 2nd disc, which is all to do with the making of the series, people will not appreciate just how much work goes into it and to obtain these special effects.
If you missed all, or some of the series, grab a DVD, it's great to watch, learn by and saves a lot of 'difficult' questions from the children, yet fully understandable from an early age.
All in all, I would say an 'excellent' all rounder, it makes good watching and will help with education at the same time.
Great as a reference guide. Well done again to the BBC.

My 3 years old son is mad about dinosaurs and we wanted to buy him a DVD that would feature those. Thrilled with it! Guilt-free entertainment - yes, it is telly but informative and educational. Everyone is happy.

Wanted to buy this after we had been to see Walking With Dinosaurs. This is a fantastic DVD just what you would expect from a BBC product. Very informative and educational. Much better than your usual DVD about Dinosaurs.

Brilliant series. I watched it with my grandson and he loved it! Fascinating and educational viewing.

Fantastic Series, My little boy loves it and is amazed by the dinosaurs if a little confused as to why he cant see any today.

I bought this for my 4 year old son who is mad about dinosaurs. He loves it, and it is now his first choice of DVD when given the option. It is highly educational, with great effects and narration - just like sending David Attenborough back millions of year in time!

I bought this DVD for my 5 year old son who is very interested in dinosaurs at the moment. He absolutely loves it and to be honest, I find it very interesting also. I will happily sit with him to watch it over and over again as it is very informative, exciting and educational. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in dinosaurs.

Although the special effects are now looking a little dated, this is never-the-less an excellent DVD that thoroughly covers the history of dinosaurs and affords the viewer an absorbing and fascinating insight into the lives of these ancient creatures. A 'must have' for any dinosaur fan!

Brilliant

This dvd provides up to date information based on research as to how dinosaurs lived and died. My two sons had this series on video and watched it so many times they wore out the tape. Getting it on dvd from e bay was great. I got a bargain and my children can continue learning about prehistoric history.

My son is into dinosuars. He whatched the tv programme when it was on and ask me to buy the dvd when it came out. He watches it over and over. He can tell me alot about dinosuars how they lived and what they eat. Good informationly dvd well worth the buy

This dvd was bought for my grandson's birthday, I originally ordered and paid for a walking with Dinosaurs through Amazon (I am still not with the fact that e-bay sells just about everything) When Amazon let me down by enlarging the time of waiting, my son suggested going on e-bay, I bought the dvd for cheaper than Amazon, the service was excellent, the buyer I bought the dvd off sent the dvd quickly, the item was brilliant and my grandson loved it, which in the end it achieved what I wanted it to achieve and that was to please my grandson, All in all it was a quick clean tranaction and I can honestly say thank you all the sellers and buyers of eBay for the vast amount of items that people like me buy and sell every day

Probably one of the best series the BBC has ever produced.

I have four children who all love dinosaurs & loved these programs, but even if I didn't have them, I think, no I know, I would still have watched them. They were & still are, when watched again, brilliant work. The follow on series they did were just as good & I have no doubt that I will purchase them at some point in the future.

They were documentary style, as though the animals were still living now & VERY believeable. The computer graphics were outstanding, I don't know if they won any awards for the series, but they certainly should have!

If you like dinosaurs (whether you know anything about them or not) or just like wildlife documentaries, I highly recommend this series & any of it's follow ups.

this was an excellent buy, our 7 year old son is mad on dinosaurs and this dvd is so interesting, educational and enjoyable for all the family. a great way to understand how our world once was.

Bought for my son who is currently dinosaur mad. We had been given a video version but the quality of the DVD, the extras and the fact that all episodes are on one disc more than justified the purchase. Although this is now a 6 year old program the special effects easily compete with the recent Prehistoric Park series. The whole series is informative (if some what bloody in places)and fun making this a recommended buy

My son is a dinosaur fanatic and loves every minute of this DVD set. It did confuse him a little with some of the dinosaur name pronounciations but he still loves it!

top quality, ground breaking entertainment at a very good price.still amazing even though the art of cgi has moved on considerably.
