An excellent and intelligent Sci-Fi thriller that tells the tale of the crew of a tug boat that takes on an alien life form that see man as a virus. As it says on the cover -- settle back to be scared, shocked and mightily entertained. The film is fast paced without being frantic and holds the attention from start to finish. A great star cast take their roles well and are believable in their characterisation. All in all an excellent evenings entertainment.

usally i find that when a film of limmited budget is turned out, a lot of the budget is spent on top actors to try to stop the film sinking due to a poor script/story line.
this is not one of them films.
this film, to me, rates amoungst the top sci-fi films of our time.
good story line, good acting, a masterpeice.

  Virus (DVD 2002)

Being a horror fan, and with a particular fondness for !Alien" movies i must say i enjoyed this DVD.Starring Jamie lee Curtis, and Donald Sutherland the plot starts as do many Alien movies.

A small vessel discovers a deserted ship on the high seas, and despite a thorough search of the ship the crew cant find anybody at all.The ship is in a bad state and it looks like everybody left in a great hurry.

The Captain of the small vessel (Sea Star) Sutherland is hellbent on selling the ship for salvage to make millions of dollars, and agrees to share the proceeds with the other crew members. But this depends on not finding anybody alive!.

The Doctor (Curtis), is sure that somebody is on the boat, and ofcourse an Alien type Creature starts killing, and infiltrating the bodies of the ships visitors.

I won't spoil the ending, but two of the crew members survive to tell the tale, and presumably sail away into the sunset.A good horror DVD, but i thought the Aliens themselves were a little disapointing, being the sort of models you can buy down at your local toy shop.

Finally, both Jamie lee Curtis, and Donald Sutherland are good, but appear to be going through the motions a little bit.Maybe they were there just for the payday?.I bought the DVD on Ebay for a Fiver so you cant go wrong at that price, so well worth a look, if not a classic.

Review created: 31/10/06

Story: A Russian science ship in the South Pacific is attempting to line up its satellite dish with a Russian space station. An alien energy mass envelops the space station and invades the ship's navigational equipment by way of data transmission.... Some days later the Sea Star tug decides to claim salvage on the Russian vessel which appears deserted except for one remaining crew member....

Comments: True Horror! Hard To Come By! A Must Have!

Been searching hard & long for this DVD to be in my collection, but finally found & bought it :)

This is TRUE horror!

If you like ''Deep Rising'' Then your SURE gonna love this one!

Alien Life Energy finds it's way through MIR station to come to earth on a isolated ship.

It manifests Robots and sees humans as a virus and tries to eradicate all humans it encounters.

At the end the ship is blown & 2 people survive. ( Not saying who ;-) )

Good movie to own, rent or watch it on TV.

You won't be sorry to have this movie in your collection.
