Victorian Farm a positive historical reference for all

Victorian Farm is an excellent DVD and a masterpiece of the historical re enactment genre. if there is one regret it is that over the space of a full year on the farm i am sure there were many day to day items and issues which occurred which were not featured on the programme. i had hoped that some of the cooking and brewing recepies, and the various skills such as the methods used in the building of the pig stys and the ploughing methods etc. which were tried out during the year had not been added on the special features. of particular interest were the household hints such as soaking ink stains in milk and glue in alcohol for example. these have been forgotten over the years and i think that more of these hints and tips should be compiled and at least be put in print. otherwise an excellent programme and well worth looking at either for pleasure or as part of a course in modern history. the BBC always does these types of programmes so well, and Victorian Farm shows that they have not lost their edge.
