Victoria Beckham - Victoria Beckham (CD 2001)

I have always been a big Spice Girls fan and posh is my favourite so I decided to buy one of her cd's. I was fasinated when I listened to it as I never have before and loved it. It has 12 great songs lasting 46 minutes including her big hit: Not Such An Innocent Girl Which came no. 6 in the charts. My favourites are Not Such An Innocent Girl and No Trix No Games. I highly recommend this electronic/dance abulm to those who liked Forever by Spice Girls and other Victoria Beckham fans.

She might not have the strongest voice in the world but there are some good tracks on this cd. I'm sure some of the songs would have made it even bigger in the charts had they been sung by someone else. I bought this in the week that Mrs B announced she would give up her microphone once and for all.
She certainly tried her best vocally and I don't mind admitting to enjoying this CD.

Victoria Beckham might get a bit of stick from the media about her singing ability, but to be honest - this album isn't half bad. It's a decent effort and features some great R&B/Pop tracks such as "Not Such An Innocent Girl" and "Midnight Fantasy". This album leans towards a more R&B/Garage sound with tracks like "No Trix, No Games" but the album also feaures a handful of decent ballads. "I.O.U" is the clear standout and it's a love song to David Beckham. Don't expect to be blown away by the album, but it's definately worth a listen.

I never bought this album when it was originally released, maybe because I didn't want to go into HMV and admit that I liked her songs. Now with ebay you are anonymous so I thought I'd see what it's like. I was pleasantly surprised she has made an album that it really quite good. It's a shame she gets so much stick from the press as she can sing. I'm disappointed that her second album was never released

i liked this cd as its so different from the spice girls and everyone says victoria cant sing i think this cd proves she can ,shame she wont make another album .i bought it as im a fan of posh i personally think she was the best spice girl and now shes so more popular than the others ,shes so down to earth nothing like the papers make out .go on posh do another album

To be honest this album had amazingly underperformed. From start to finish the album is exceptional. There are no filler tracks, or interludes. Interestingly unlike her fellow Spice Girls, Geri, Melanie C and Melanie B, Victoria wastes no time moanoing about fame and media intrusion, instead opting to sing about her real cares, her family and love. Highlights include the declarations of love to her husband, the orchestra led 'I.O.U.' and 'Unconditional Love'. The song for her son 'Every Part Of Me' is tender and yet not soppy. The RnB/Garage/Pop track 'I Wish' is sheer musical genius. The singles 'Not Such An Innocent Girl' and 'A Mind Of Its Own' speak for themselves. The moody 'Girlfriend', 'Like That' and the multi-interpreted 'Watcha Talkin' 'bout' are fantastic. The mid-tempo number 'That Kind Of Girl' is gorgeous to the ear.

In conclusion this album should have established Beckham as a mainstream solo star, but for one reason and another didn't. It's most likely that had Britney, Madonna or Kylie released this it would've became multi-platinum and award winning. It's also fair to say that Victoria shows stronger vocal ability than any of the aforementioned leading ladies of pop.

My advice is buy this but don't listen to it as Victoria Beckham, and let the music speak for itself, you never know Victoria may prove herself to you.
