Vicar Of Dibley - The Complete Collection (DVD)

The box set is great. A must have for any fan.
One thing to point out, Amazon, and a few other sites I seem to recall, seem to pair this with the separate Christmas Specials 'A Very Dibley Christmas' DVD (relesed at the same time as this boxset). This is unnecessary as that EXACT DVD is provided in this boxset, complete with Comic Relief extras (not listed on box). So don't think you have to buy both!!!

The Vicar of Dibley was such a fun programme that it remains as one of the best British comedies. I was very pleased to receive this collection as it still makes me laugh.

My only criticism concerns the editing of the DVDs - what happened? Not all `Dibley' fans will know what I mean, but in some episodes there are lines and scenes that weren't there before (e.g. the hair dyeing scene `Love and Marriage'). Not only that but some scenes have been cut, possibly to counteract these additions (e.g. the moment when the villagers sing in `Dibley Live'). In my opinion this has led to some extra comic moments which are great to see, but has also given a less punchy/spontaneous feeling. It has certainly made me appreciate the power of the editor, though it probably won't bother most viewers.

Despite this minor point this is certainly a collection worth having, particularly if you are looking for something light, funny, and highly watchable.

A classic comedy series with excellent acting. Watching this is a pleasant way to spend an evening or two.

A must for any Vicar of dibley fan. Laughter and tears for all the family. Highley recommended purchase and would make a great gift.

I do seem to love comedies about the church,father ted for instance....but the vicar of dibley i must give my 100% rating to.I just love Dawn French anyway so this helps a great deal.But the cast Richard Curtis has assembled really do work together in a comedy and i could watch it all night,like i normally do when there is nothing else on the television.......which i now find is most nights.There are some great characters,no,no,no yes Jim Trott,down trodden Hugo and dippy Alice (i know someone just like her so it's my own personal joke!!) to name few make it work,but the star is Dawn as the vicar Geraldine,she's rocking.If you have never watched it,give it a go,you'll love it,if you have watched it you will know what i mean.The best comedy on television in my book.It was not voted the 3rd best comedy of all time and the highest christmas audience of 1999 for nothing.EXCELLENT.

Bought it for the wifes birthday, I was after it for absolutly ages but people where paying silly prices for them. I waited and waited then ran out of time and even I had to pay a little more than I wanted.

The wife was over the moon so it was worth it in the end.

We will watch it again and again, and when we want too not when the beeb decides to repeat it.

After owning this title i think that for the ammount of episodes there are it was good value for money.

I bought it as a xmas gift so it will be prefect as it is still shrink wrapped.
My partner just loves The vicar of dibley so we will have hours of laughs watching them.
I am more then happy with the service and the speed of delivery, and the condition of the package is unused just want I was looking for.

The show's creator and principal writer, Richard Curtis, has done it again. Blackadder and Not the 9 o'clock news were pure genius. British comedy at it's best. The Vicar herself could only have been Dawn French who apparently based her character on a real vicar somewhere in the London area. The characters we've all come to know and love just got better and even the Easter show, despite a sad twist was still very funny indeed.
Emma Chambers' Alice is just the icing on the top of a very chocolaty and hilarious cake.

watched some of the dvds this weekend.they are just timeless classics.
loved them even the kids sat and watched them with us laughing.
great all round family entertainment.

i bought this collection for my daughter as she had been going on about it for days. now she has it she loves it and she is watching it all the time, to zoey it is excellent, also it keeps her occupied for a while, the best collection i ever bought for my daughter well worth it.

I been after a set of these for ages and I'm so pleased to have them now I've watched them several times already I never get fed up with them ! their just so funny. nothing to dislike at all ! never fail to cheer me up dawn french at her very best I think !!!!!

A must for all fans of the show, a total laugh from start to finish. Dawn french is an amazing comedic actress. A++++

I have seen a few episodes of the vicar of dibley on TV and thought it very funny, although the boxset isnt for myself i'm sure the present will be a welcome surprise. The best comedy on TV.

i decided to buy this item as my friend had been saying she wanted them for a while and i thought it would be an ideal birthday present. the discs arrived very quickly and were exactly as described on the listing. i was very pleased with the whole transaction and would recommend the seller to anybody. vicar of dibley is a classic british comedy!!

Classic BBC comedy. Dawn French Et Al give out great performances, you would be hard pressed to find funnier and more entertaining topics on DVD. The specials are a particular favorite giveing topics which are current a comic slant, whilst projecting the message. i particulary like the jokes at the end of the shows they show insparationonal ideas. i think my all time favorit is the christmas mince pie joke, closly followed by the dracular one.

I LOVE THE VICAR OF DIBLEY ADN ITS SO NICE TO HAVE ALL THE CLASSICS IN ONE BOX SET. IT IS MISSING THE WHOLLY HAPPY ENDING AS IT WAS RELEASED BEFORE THAT CAME OUT, BUT HAS EVERY OTHER EPSISODE.

I previously checked different DVDs website selling the item. It appeared that it was cheaper on ebay, so I looked out for one to bid. I wanted one New and Sealed.

I love the vicar of dibley.If I feel at a low point I put this dvd on and it never fails to cheer me up . I was very pleased to buy it on ebay.It took a few attemps to buy as I had bid on others but was always out bit , till this one,all I can say is excerllent, perfect. fantastic. And Thank you.
