4 Stars - Excellent - ...[Is] there a more perfect marriage of pop sensibilities than the Pet Shop Boys covering a Village People hit?...there's more to these songs [on VERY] than sly wit and catchy choruses...the depth makes VERY worth hearing again and again...

Pet Shop Boys Very (CD 1993)
Review created: 07/01/07

This 'Lego' style CD cover is quite odd but fun. The CD itself contains 5 hit singles. This IMO is the best PSB Album from the 1990's. Look out for it's rare sister CD Relentless which you could buy at the time on a limited edition basics. It contains 6 songs mainly intramentals except track 6 'One thing leads to another' which is written backwards but sounds great forwards?!

This was released in two formats, Very Orange lego case and Very Relentless (rare). Try for very relentless as you get some different tracks, Very has the catchy Go West single and a cracking song Dreaming of the Queen which they sang on tour this year (R.I.P Diana.) All the songs on this album are good but after a while probably about 50 hours on the trot it can get a bit boring so listen lots over time
