Ethiopian Grooves
This stunning compilation explores the amazing music that was being recorded in the very late Sixties and the rest of the Seventies centered in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa. Funk, jazz, schmalz, its all there spiced in a unique Ethiopian sound. There is not a track to dislike from the jazzy Eric Satie like piano of Tsegue-Maryam Guebron to the James Brown of Ethiopia, Alemayehu Eshete. If you own only one CD from the dark continent, let it be this one!
