Continues where the first ' Original' left off.

Having enjoyed the first compilation in this series - The Original Summer of Love, so much, I was worried that this follow up couldn't live up to it. I needn't have worried. Here are another fantastic 43 classic hits from the same era. What does it for me is the range of the choices. There's well known classics - Mrs Robinson, Lazy Sunday, Blackberry Way; and then theres the more unusual stuff which make this so great - Days of Pearly Spencer, White Rabbit, America. Once again the inclusion of the American hits give it the Flower Power kick ( Gary Puckett, Lovin Spoonful, Turtles, Steppenwolf etc ).
I would have to get very picky to fault the choices across these two compilations and I'd need to go more psycadelic/rock to do so. OK, you don't get any Soul/ Tamala, but I think it was right to leave those styles for a different compilation. This one is great on its own and fantastic alongside the earlier ' First Summer '. Buy them both, they're really great and fantastic value. All originals again, no covers/ updated versions here. Once again this was originally released through supermarkets, not record shops, so get em when you see em, they don't come round so often ( except on ebay, thank goodness ).
