Album Notes
The very cohesive third entry in LTJ Bukem's six-volume POINTS IN TIME series is easily the best of the bunch. The richness of tones, the sparkling clarity of the drumbeats, and the unerringly crisp basslines of the many contributors result in a drum-and-bass paradise for the ears. Bukem and Peshay's breathtakingly spacious "19.5 (Reprisal)" is a simply beautiful piece of work, its soul-melting electronics smeared by high-tension basslines and a labyrinthine framework of snares and hi-hats. The "Solar System" inhabited by Q-Project opens up various astral gates for mining, strings propelling you further and further along the event horizon. Bukem and Tayla "Bang the Drums" with a subtle ferocity, their tentative synth sweeps and '60s headhunting samples keeping the lions at bay, while Axis' "Solutions" wraps the disc up in a freeform melange of funk and 'delic.
