Album Notes It's appropriate that jazz and soul music create the sonic backdrop for Chinese director Wong Kar-Wai's first American film. MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS stars Nora Jones, who plays a lead role and contributes "Story," a new song, to the soundtrack. The film takes the form of a road movie set along Route 66, so it's no accident that alongside Jones's sultry, smoky jazz composition are classic R&B tracks from the likes of Otis Redding, Ruth Brown, and Mavis Staples, and new-school soul from Cassandra Wilson and Cat Power. Ry Cooder contributes original, atmospheric pieces to the score.
Editorial Reviews This outstanding soundtrack album features a really good new song called 'The Story' by Norah Jones....It also contains superior selections by Cat Power... Dirty Linen
