Various Artists - High School Musical II (CD 2007)

This soundtrack to the popular TV movie is the mother lode of squeaky-cleanliness. Not only are the cast members of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL good kids who sing about falling in love and doing the right thing, but they're also getting involved in the right things at school. This CD makes theater look attractive the way All the Right Moves made kids of another generation want to play high school football.

The music straddles the line between very light urban dance and show tunes. Though uncomplicated, the lyrics are clear and have a point. Standouts include "We're All in This Together" and "What I've Been Looking For."

The CD will provide lots for tweens and parents to talk about as most kids are well aware of cliques and how peers react when anyone dares cross those lines.

Bottom line: High School Musical may encourage tweens to try something new and see that they don't have to limit themselves to what their friends think. Who knows, it may even inspire some "jocks" and "brains" to try out for their school play.

The song fabulous gives it away too much when I herd the move came out I rushed to the shops the next Day.I think this CD will inspire jocks,brainiacs to join the country club talent show. it's like well angels singing.

When I discovered High School Musical last summer, I'll admit I fell for it completely. Within a couple weeks of first seeing it, I had the movie and the soundtrack. I wasn't going to let the sequel pass me by, so I bought the soundtrack even before I saw the movie. It took quite a few listens, but I am enjoying it.

The first thing I noticed is Troy's voice. If you don't believe that Zac Efron had help with the singing in the first movie, you'll believe it now. Troy sounds so different. Not saying he sound bad, but it is obvious that it's not the same singer as the first movie.

All that aside, the cast does a great job. And the music is fine. It's mostly teen pop, which is why it took me a little while to get into it. It's overproduced at times, but certainly listenable.

The soundtrack starts and ends with two group songs, "What Time is it" and "All for One." Easily my favorite track is the Chad/Ryan song "I Don't Dance." Troy and Gabriella get a couple nice ballad duets. I especially like "You are the Music in Me," although the Sharpay version doesn't do much for me.

And that brings up my biggest complaint with the soundtrack - Sharpay. I get what "Fabulous" is supposed to do, but I really don't like the song. I feel like slapping Sharpay by the time it's over. Nothing against Ashley Tisdale, it's the song and character I can't stand. The only song she does I like is the bonus track. I would have loved to see that song in the movie.

Even though it doesn't quite measure up to the first movie's soundtrack, there are some fun songs here that will have me pulling the disc out to listen to again.

After watching the DVD we now have CD to listen to in car, My daughter sings along to all song. FANTASTIC.

the item was fantastic, even for the fact it was not for me i still enjoyed to joy i gave, it was a shame i could not give it on the day of her birthday as it took 3 weeks to come...

all in all great item and i saved money =)

I liked the price and the quick dispatch, my daughter loved the fact that its exactly what she wanted and she got it only two days after we had seen it in the shops........we used the savings to get other highschool musical stuff from other sellers , also why she liked it.
I just liked the price.

High School Musical, is a great, fun, exciting dvd for both younger and older people, its also great for little ones with great episodes being fun,

High School Musical is a Disney Channel Original Movie about a Wildcats basketball star Troy Bolton who goes to high school at East High in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While at a ski lodge on winter break, Troy meets brainiac Gabriella Montez. Both learn they have a love of singing and an interest in each other. When Troy gets back to East High, he realizes Gabriella is a new student at his school. The two end up trying out for the school musical, but when they get called back for the lead roles against the school's top theatrical talents Ryan and Sharpay Evans, the brother and sister will stop at nothing to get Troy and Gabriella out of the running. Even their friends will try to stop them from breaking free.

love the film and the music so bought it for myself and my daughter. the few extra songs that are there make it worth while

Contains all the great tunes from the film, gets your feet dancing and a bit of romance too, perfect for any lover of High School Musical.

GREAT.I wanted it as a gift and my neice thought it was great. She says it was the best of the High School Musicals, and hopes there will be more of a similar nature

My daughter wanted this as we already got the first CD on ebay, and she wanted the second. Listenable.

But any album thats been around for 2years plus, and still popular speaks for it,s self.

i love the sound track from the film and also my six year old loves it to and that's why i brought it as she is high school musical mad the price i paid for it was the right amount and much better than the high street prices which are silly and i always buy from ebay and with the buyer i brought this item from give me great customer service and the packing was done great so it would not get broke in the post also it came on time as it stated by the seller .
so i say buy from sellers on ebay .

this item was also brought as a present looks good what i have heard of it so daughter will love it and enjoy listening to it

Not listened to it yet. Bought as a Christmas present for my Daughter. I'm sure she will absolutely love it and it will drive me absolutely crazy!!!!

the cd had been used but it was in good condition.the delivery was fast which is what i like.I would buy off this person again.thanks.

My little boy is a very big fan of high school musical loves all 3 movies and continually watches HSM2, so rather than watching over and over it made sense to buy the soundtrack and so now I have to listen rather than watch which is fantastic, the music is very good and catchy - I have found myself dancing around the kitchen!!!!

My daughter loved the film, and so i decided to get her the soundtrack to be able to listen to the songs on their own. She is now very happy and looking forward to HSM 3!

My Kids love High school musical and have to admit I am a lover of them myself due to the amount of times ive been made to watch the films. We have High school musical 1 CD and the kids are always fighting over it so decided it was time to get the 2nd CD.
Its a great easy listening CD very happy songs (and yes I know the words better than the kids!!)

My grandaughter adores this cd.She has learnt all the words from the song book. She drives me insane singing it all the time, her mum likes it too.

I had to buy it as High School Musical stuff is a MUST HAVE in our house and my daughter wore out her last copy of this cd

This album is SO SO much better than the first, and the first was fantastic!!
I love all of the songs - and even Humuhumunukunukuapua'a has grown on me!
One of my favourite songs on this album is Sharpay's version of 'You Are The Music In Me'. The original version is excellent, but I just love the upbeat, rock-y remake.
I also love 'Bet On It' - I think Zac Efron has a great voice and should use it more!! I urge anyone and everyone to buy this album!! I promise - You won't be disappointed....!!
