Various Artists - Dark Side Of The 80's (The Very Best Of Alternative Rock, Goth And Indie Guitar) (CD 2003)

If you remember these songs from the first time around you probably:
Are late 30s to early 40s.
Have lots of cats.
Are bemused by the global warming panic. Yes, you might have used a can of hair spray a day but it was always CFC free, the sticker said so!
Are sure that the other parents outside the school think you’re a bit odd but are afraid to say so.
Have a moth-eaten Sisters of Mercy t-shirt at the bottom of a drawer.
Are now thinking, ‘I must find my moth-eaten old Sisters of Mercy t-shirt, I think it’s at the bottom of a drawer’.

I wholeheartedly recommend this CD to ageing Goths, alternative rock & Indie lovers.
It has everything you expect, Siouxsie, The Cult, The Mission & Bauhaus, all in one place, and they’re old favourites to boot, so you don’t have to bother your arthritic old knees by keep getting up to change CD (or possibly that’s just me).

There are some oddities that made me go “eh?” like Black Sabbath & The La’s but that’s what the remote control was invented for ;o)

Gowan, buy it, you know it makes sense.
When you hear A Wish Away by The Wonder Stuff the memories will come flooding back (unless you spent the 80s under a rock or listening to Wham) and all you need to remember is you’re no longer 16 and if you feel like leaping about the living room that’s fine, but it’s your carpet you’re spilling your drink on now, not your mum’s.

Incidentally, if you did spend the 80s listening to Wham & have a moth-eaten Choose Life t-shirt at the bottom of a drawer, probably best if you don't buy this CD.

BOUGHT THIS ALBUM BECAUSE IT BRINGS BACK THE GOOD OLD DAYS. YOU JUST DON'T GET SOUNDS LIKE THESE ANYMORE!!!
