the unit is a tv series following cases and lifes of personnel in the miltary, it shows the way the jobs affect the relationships and the work. amazing series.

Despite the scenario, my wife really enjoyed this series. There is roughly a 50/50 split between up-front action and domestic bliss/turmoil.

Moves at a cracking pace and well acted.

Many people would not have watched this American TV show as it has only been shown on Bravo/Virgin 1. The show follows a group of American Delta Force soldiers and their families as they conduct their convert missions. The show has good plots and storylines, some excellent action and good characters acted well by a talented cast. The first season has more stand alone episodes with some ongoing story lines as you get to know the characters better. Where as season 2 and 3 (which are both also highly recommended) tend to have more follow on episodes which continue throughout the season. This show comes highly recommended by myself and I am looking forward to seeing the fourth season, which is currently being shown in America.

Very good tv series about a special ops unit within usa, statrted watching half way through series anf got hooked, bought as a gift

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes

Excellent condition for such a good price considering the price in the shops. Once I have completed this set I am very keen to move onto series 2 and once series 3 comes out with be doing the same.

Quality of material was excellant, however there was a delay in dispatching the goods (reason unknown, but the seller did send me an e-mail to let me know. I recieved the good in around 10 days.

When I heard about this TV series, wasn't too keen on it because i'd never heard of it before i.e. not seen a single advertisement for it.

However, when I read the review and found out that the directors of 'The Shield' had also made 'The Unit', I was gobsmacked as 'The Shield' was a fantastic TV series.

So I went out and bought series 1 of 'The Unit'. I started watching one episode and then kept on watching (p.s. the first few episodes are a bit slow in that the scene is being set thus you might be put off, I didn't personally but I know some who did, so just hang on).

If you love TV series such as; Prison Break, Lost, The Shield and 24 - you will love this.

Action packed series, absolutely love it - money well spent.

Having first thought typical American macho rubbish and regreted it i actually didnt mind it. I have seen worse.

I was a little sceptical of this when I first saw the advertisements on the TV. But after taking the plunge and purchasing the first season I was pleasantly surprised. It does take a few episodes to get into, there are quite a few characters to get to grips with, but stick with it. The military action while a little gung ho an corny at first soon settles down to some believable operations. On the home front you have the the huge character of Molly blane the patriarch of the whole base it seems, and although a little annoying at first I've found her personality growing on me a s the season continued. Over all a very good series as first seasons go (only 13 episodes though:-( ) So if you see it at bargain price buy it, you can always sell it again on ebay ;-)

I saw the commercials for "The Unit", and was intrigued. Then I started watching this show, and it just seems to be getting better as it goes. It kind of reminds me of a Tom Clancy novel, and the last episode I saw had three seemingly separate plot lines going, which eventually became tied together, two of them ended up being parts of the same main story line. Besides the military thrills from the precision excellence of this black-ops unit (which doesn't exist, of course), there are always personal stories and lots of aspects of this show that most anybody should be able to enjoy. I love it when the good guys kick the bad guys collective asses! Well written, and good acting all around. Interesting plot twists, I was caught by surprise more then a few times. There are some really great lines, and it is so much more than just a shoot-em-up action show. My emotions were running wild. I hope this show stays around for years to come!

the unit is a first class series,plenty of action but always keeping in touch with those left behind who have to deal with all the secrecy and being parted from their partners.how they handle it is top dollar,very exciting to watch,the more you watch,the more you want,always a cracking episode whichputs you in touch with the real news behind the reporters stories if you like.brilliant.

i loved the unit when it was on tv. so it was a choice that was easy to make, i think dennis haysbert is a fantastic actor, i loved him in 24. i found the unit a fantastic watch & i think anyone who watches it will feel that they wish they were part of the unit. i have no dislikes for this series & the second series is just as good as the first. so i will be buying that also. the reason i decided to buy this as i said its a fantastic series.
