A Beautiful CD

The tradition is that fans of any band like the old stuff, while acknowledging new material. I have been a U2 fan since I was a very young man - have seen them live many times, and (of course) love the old stuff. 'All that you can't leave behind' - released in 2000 - is thus new stuff. But really, it is really great 'new stuff'. Most readers will be familiar from radio-play favourite 'Beautiful Day'. This is a great song, and a candidate for U2's best song (and certainly the most succesful in financial terms - it has received royalties from repeated TV airplay, clips and samples). Other crackers are track 3 (Elevation - a live favourite) and track 4 (Walk On - a tribute by Bono to his late father Bob Hewson). The truth is that this is a great U2 album, that old fans and new fans alike will love. The concurrent live show (from 2000-2001) 'Go Home' available on DVD live from Slane Castle also makes for great entertainment. Really the coming of age for U2. Buy it and love it - highly recommended.
