Reviews I hadn't seen this for ages but it's still as good as ever. Two terrific actors, both at the top of their form-with such a gentle touch to bring the characters to life. And if anyone has been unlucky enough to experience a deep loss--this can be a salve. Review ID: 10000000008187138 Was this review helpful? Report this review this was bought as a suitable movie for a girly nite in and it did not disappoint! four of us (+ a couple of bottles)sat down to view and within a short while there was not a dry eye in the room. julie stevenson is wonderful at grief. no genteel tissue dabbing here....real snotty, puffy eyed gut wrenching sorrow that had us all sniffing. the storyline was bizarre but it really worked as we all empathised with her loss and his efforts to free her for a new life. i would really recommend this film. i'm so glad i bought it as i can envisage watching it again and again when i fancy a good wallow. when my husband came home and saw us all red eyed and clutcing soggy handkies he was amazed that we all thought it was wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definately one for the girls.Lots of laughs, lots of tears.A fantasy film that you can believe in.It has so much emotion and a sense of total loss for Nina who loses her husband only for him to be brought back to her in the form of a ghost.Nina goes from utter despair to joy when he appears before her only for her to realise that she has moved on when she meets another man. This is a great girly movie, you will need a box of tissues but all comes good in the end, thank goodness!!.Highly recommend for a good night in. Juliet Stephenson is absolutely marvellous and Nina, grieving widow of Alan Rickman, beautiful and fending off all sorts of unwanted attentions from would be suitors, one day her prayers are answered. This is one for when the men have gone out for the night and you can sob shamelessly and laugh openly at those situations only us girls understand. I loved it.
