Volume 1 remains one of the finest albums of all time. No egos on show, and a real feeling of enjoyment to the whole thing.
Most of the album are highlights, but Orbison on the Jeff Lynne penned "Not alone anymore", serves up his best vocals for years, and Bob Dylan on "Tweeter and the monkey man", his best track for years.
Harrisons "Handle with care", and "Heading for the light" remain as good as any other Beatles solo tracks.
It works because of the different vocal nuances of the 5 participants, along with the understated production of Harrison and Lynne.
Volume 3 is not of the same standard simply because Orbison was dead, and Harrison contributes very little.
You are therefore left with an album of Dylan and Petty with the odd Jeff Lynne contribution. While the songs are good, and the production once agin spot on, this has not got the variety of the first album, and suffers accordingly.

This really is an excellent CD and DVD set that brings back to life one of the greatest super groups there has ever been. From the haunting vocals of Roy Orbison to the powerful gruff voice of Bob Dylan, this is truely a CD that is hard to turn off. It also comes with a DVD which includes an in depth documentary that covers the birth of the group to its shortlived end. I would Highly recommend this CD which is also very well presented and would make an ideal present.

I had never heared of this band until my boyfriend mentioned them months ago, so deciding what to buy him for valentines day, im amazed its great, such great names goerge harrison dylan orbison, just fooling around,very light hearted tunes

An excellent sound, it is a must for any fan of Dylan, Harrison, Orbison, Lynne and Petty.
It is an album that is vibrant in sound and yet it contains the history of all the artists into the songs.

The Traveling Wilbury's DigipakI bought it for my husband. It was easily bought on ebay as my husband had been looking in shops. It is great value for money. He plays it in the car and the quality is good. He is pleased and he is fussy about things like that

The legends live onWhat can you say, five legends (Harrison, Lynne, Petty, Dylan & Orbison)making great music, you can feel the fun they were having when they recorced these CD's & this includes both CD's, vol 1 & vol 3(vol 3 is actually vol 2)& a dvd with all the videos they made, this is a really nice pack the music is brilliant & theres 4 bonus tracks as well. thereis only 4 of them on vol 3 as Roy Orbison had passed on by then. the packagings not great just a foldered cardboard that opens up to show the book on the left then disk 1(vol 1) disk 2 (DVD) & disk 3 (vol 3) in a line but no case/cover to put it in to hold them togther. Thid is just plain fun music done to be enjoyed not analized or to make money just 5 friends jamming together. perfect
