Transcend 8gb Class 6 SDHC memory card

I've tried other cheaper memory cards and they work fine for photos. However, if you want to shoot video with a digital camera, or with a camcorder which takes an SD or SDHC card, then this is what you need.

The "class 6" refers to the speed with which data is written onto the memory card (the "write-speed"). The fastest write-speed readily available as I type this is class 6 (the bigger the class number, the faster the write-speed).

Bear in mind that there are many memory cards out there which are actually too slow in their write-speeds to use for shooting video. Trying to use them will end in tears.

If you have used other less fast memory cards, then you will be pleasantly surprised at just how quick class 6 cards are.

Like I say, if you are only taking photos, you don't really need this, but for shooting video, I highly recommend it.

Transcend (8 GB) SDHC Card (TS8GSDHC6)

If your Nikon SLR supports SDHC memory cards, this is the one to get. The Transcend 8GB Class 6 SDHC card has a large capacity that provides enough storage for thousands of high-resolution photos. It also has ample storage for shooting in RAW mode or recording HD movies on the Nikon D90. This affordable card offers fast read/write performance and is an excellent value. It’s also available in 4GB and 16GB capacities. Many popular Nikon dSLRs support SDHC including the D40, D60, D90, and new D5000, but be sure to check support for your specific model.

Memory card fit for a Canon E500D DSLR

It took me longer to get the card out of its packaging than put it in the camera and format it, that's not a complaint. Plenty of information about Transcend memory cards and hardware inside the package. The card is very quick, both read and write, and has a lifetime warranty with the usual limitations. And the bonus, a very competitive price

  SDHC card

I like SDHC cards for their capacities and dimensions. Usually I shot in RAW format and using bracketing, so the card fills quite quickly. The 8GB are a good compromise between capacity and speed. Transcend is a reputable brand with lifetime guarantee.

The Transcend (8 GB) SDHC Card I bought it on spec, as I had not heard of the brand before. glad I did even having to plug it in and out of my computer, and for playing films on my photo frame it stands up to a lot of work.

I bought this 8 GB class 6 SDHC card recommended by my camcorder manufacturer, but when using it in the camcorder it very often froze! and i would have to remove battery, i thought at first it was a fault with my camcorder until i tried the same type of card from a different manufacturer and that was ok,
i contacted the seller, his reply was to contact the card manufacturer, which i did, and downloaded a format utility for the SDHC card, after formating the SDHC card i tried it again but the same thing happened..the camcorder would film for about 2 minutes and would freeze!!
I contacted the seller and told them i believe the card was faulty, they said if i sent it back they would replace or refund it, i sent it back but they claim they never received it!! Unfortunately i didn't send it signed for, a lesson learnt, but the nice people at ebay help desk did refund my money,
So a big thank you to the people at ebay,
But i wouldn't buy another trancend card.

Transcend (8 GB) SDHC Card (TS8GSDHC6)
Review created: 11/07/09

Bought for about £10.50 for a Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ3 camera. (I thought this was cheap.) A product of a reputable name in the flash memory field. Card is class 6 speed rating, so it shouldn't be a weak link delaying image transfer. It has proved to work well, allowing storage of around 2200 images at full resolution and quality, or around 80 minutes of the highest quality video possible on this camera. The capacity has prompted me to buy some spare batteries for the camera.

Well i was so pleased with the seller and how quick and efficient the sale and delivery where! However i have since taken my new camera and sd card away and in the middle of my trip my pictures all disappeared! My camera showed that the memory still held the missing pics but wouldnt show them neither would my mac or my mums pc, i took the camera and card into a shop where the assistant told me my camera was working fine so it must be the card! after paying an additional £12 for memory card recuse software i FINALLY retrieved my pics but i am unhappy at that additional cost!
i am not sure if this is just a random single fault with the product but i would just like to make you aware of this....it was stressful, upsetting and time consuming to get my pics back to say the least!!!!
