Description
The adaptation of the novel by Irvine Welsh, this is the alternately amusing and disturbing story of a heroin addict from Edinburgh called Renton. Two disc edition of this fantastic film which takes you on a roller coaster ride through heroin abuse, drug dealing, violence and death. Sounds terrible doesn't it? but once you realise where this film is coming from you will find that it is in fact anti all of those things.
This is black comedy at its finest, there are some real belly laughs in there (IE Spud's bedclothes problem and the Archie Gemill missing video) but also with some very dark moments (Infant death and nightmare visions during cold turkey)
The Soundtrack is awesome and Ewan Mcgregors narration of his thought process as his situation twists and turns is both amusing and moving.
I would say this has to be one of the best British films ever made, open your mind and go see it.
