Fantastic film which takes you on a roller coaster ride through heroin abuse, drug dealing, violence and death. Sounds terrible doesn't it, but once you realise where this film is coming from you will find that it is in fact anti all of those things.
This is black comedy at its finest, there are some real belly laughs in there (IE Spud's bedclothes problem and the Archie Gemill missing video) but also with some very dark moments (Infant death and nightmare visions during cold turkey)
The Soundtrack is awesome and Ewan Mcgregors narration of his thought process as his situation twists and turns is both amusing and moving.
I would say this has to be one of the best British films ever made, open your mind and go see it.

When this hit the movie scene it was all about indie music , unemployment and getting as stoned as possible in order to remove yourself as far as possible from reality. And this movie made it big by scoring high on all those levels.

This is about the story of four friends , one of which ( Ewen Macgregor) is trying to find his place in life.
A simple plot with a lot of depth in characters.

A great film for the boys, and some girls although some scene can be found disturbing. Overall , an excellent soundtrack and a slice of fogotten life which we may all wish to re live !
Robwert Carlye plays begbie, and provides an excellent performance as the wanna start a fight everyone in pub mate we all have.
Best Quote from the film....

" Yeah, I know...but it was my ****ing telly!"
