Forget ‘Snow White’ – it’s for losers. THIS is Disney’s finest hour-and-a-half. Not only does ‘Toy Story’ represent the birth of top quality wholly computer-generated cinema, it’s also one helluva funny ‘toon.

It takes a simple, familiar idea – that kiddies’ playthings spring to life when nobody’s peeking – and develops it into a wise-crack-packed adventure story to rival any adventure story. I’m yet to meet anyone – young or old – who doesn’t quite literally love this movie. And I’m pretty sure I don’t want to, either. For such people are clearly fools.

Tom Hanks provides the voice of Woody, the floppy cowboy doll who takes pride of place among the toy collection of a young sprog named Andy. But there’s trouble in paradise when Andy’s birthday produces a brand new toy – shiny laser-lighted space ranger Buzz Lightyear (voiced by Tim Allen). Suddenly, jealousy reigns supreme in Andy’s toy chest.

What really gets under Woody’s Stetson is having to bite the bullet and work with Buzz as a team when the pair of them get lost in the big city, before ending up in the evil clutches of a local bully prone to performing Dr Phibes-style ops on innocent toys.

There are some cracking jokes along the way, more often than not related to Buzz’s insistence that he’s a REAL space ranger, and not just an action figure. In fact, this is worth buying just for the scene where the cold truth suddenly dawns on Buzz and he becomes ‘Mrs Nesbitt’. But there’s much, much more in here worthy of a guffaw or three. Whatever your age, this is an all-time classic that’s a must for your DVD collection.

It's Got: Some marvellous support characters, most notably Mr Potato Head, Rex the dinosaur and Hamm the piggy bank.

It Needs: For all of those toy stores to have ordered more Buzz Lightyear dolls for Chrimbo ’95. There were a lot of miserable ankle-biters out there.

Compared to other sites I feel this was a good value for money......as well as being a Fab film for all the family to enjoy, its nice to know you can buy an excellent item at a excellent price..

kept all 4 children entertained brought it for 3 year old but 5 7 and 8 year olds all like it would recommend to a friend

idea for kids and grownups, it keeps the gandagher quiet fo at least the duration of the film. the film is ideal for setting up home cinema projetors due to the colours and dine definition.

Bought it as new Dvd, good story and great to watch with the kids, cheaper on Ebay than other stores. Great characters, loved it.

I bought it as i have started a disney and childhood memory dvd collection.
Its a brilliant film and was in perfect conditon.

First of its kind in the animation world, pre-ordered this for my now 16year old son when first released, its been a family great since loved by my daughter and now her sister of 2years old. Still makes me laugh and could watch it over and over.
Story about a boy called andy's toys and what they get up when their left alone.
The clever use of old fashioned and modern toys, combined with a childs perspective this story comes alive on the screen with hidden adult humour.
Great family film for years to come.

This classic animated film is great for any age. One of the early CGI films, this film never gets old or outdated, ahead for it's time.
I was 8 years old when i first watched it and remember it as the best animated film i had ever seen, and is responsible for me taking Animation degree courses at BA and MA level. I've grown up with the sequal Toy Story 2 and am very much looking forward to Toy Story 3 in 2010.
Woody the cowboy is the main character and boss over the other toys, his position is threatened by a new toy in town, the space ranger Buzz Lightyear.
The best part of most Pixar films are the outakes at the end, Toy Story being the first to do this.
Randy Newman sings the songs and fits the style perfectly.
I can't think of anything I disliked about it, apart from it not being long enough.
I bought this along with the sequal and never get bored, i highly recommend this film.

bought an old woody at a car boot sale son age 4 loved it so we got the d v d well the whole family loved this story of woody and buzz bought back old child memory of make belive with my toys and pretending they would come to life also son age 18 loved the bonus feature d v d and how it was made he isdoing computer design at college and so this was interesting and helpful to him oh and yes my son age 4 thought it was just the best film ever a+++++++++++++

got it for my son he loves this film, watches it over and over again! my eldest loved this film when it first came out, its aclassic and never ages, the graphics are amazing and the story is too, i can sit and watch this film many times to its a fab film!

Toy story is a classic old school disney movie that is funny for both children and adults to watch and enjoy. The animations are good and the storyline is fab. Would recommend to watch on a Sunday afternoon after a roast!
