I tried out the Toshiba in Comet first. This one had the Linux system on it and worked extremely well. Was quick to start and very intuitive to operate. I actually bought the slightly higher spec model with Windows XP on Ebay. This was a model that for all intents was new and had not been registered at that stage. The netbook is ideal in a number of areas. Firstly as I travel a lot the very small size is ideal and the battery life is quite good. What is disappointing is the Windows XP operation. This slows down the netbook considerably, especially when operating wirelessly. My main concern though is with the keyboard. Under some artificial lights the keyboard is almost impossible to read. At home under halogen lights in the lounge the netbook is actually unuseable. I intend to contact Toshiba direct with this problem but if it cannot be rectified then the computer will be back on Ebay very shortly.
