Light, compact, great battery life, BUT................

It's small, light and ergonically attarctive, however - the keyboard has the lettering marked in dark grey on black keys? ......impossible to see in artificial light. How have I overcome this? Don't laugh, I now wear a headtorch! I am so gutted, I had an Equium for 4 years and was so happy with Toshiba. Whoever designed this keyboard should hung, drawn and quartered, it has really spoiled what could have been a great machine. The screen is superb, very sharp and better rendition than my 32" Flat screen TV.
Should you buy one? If you have brilliant eyesight and little fingers (keypad is tiny) and you want to be totally mobile, go for it, but be warned the keyboard will wind you up. The machine is VERY quiet. I was online for 7 hours continuously yesterday and the fan was barely audible unlike my Equium!
Not having a CD-ROM drive might be a pain for some. However for me I transfer the programs onto a flash drive and load through USB, but it helps if you have a PC to do this on, as I have. If this will be your only machine you may need to buy an add on external CD drive if you want to load other software.
What I like best is this fits very easily into a small backpack which my Equium never did and it's much, much lighter. I really want to like this machine but the keyboard is something you see every time you use the machine and you keep thinking 'What moron thought grey on black was a good idea?'
