Toshiba HD-EP30 Player HD-DVD Player - A must!

I am writing this review after the dust has settled on the HD DVD vs Blu-Ray battle. As we all know, Blu-Ray won.
If you are like me and want a bargain, I don't feel that you can much wrong with an HD DVD player in the current climate. I bought mine for £71, and I have not looked back since. Plus all the HD DVDs are incredible picture and sound quality, and the whole on-screen experience is very impressive.
I bought the Toshiba HD-EP30 Player HD-DVD Player and it is both a beautiful looking piece of machinery, and it plays wonderfully too. There is a slight draw-back of loading times and the basic looking remote, but this is really only looking for faults.
One the plus side, the HD DVDs look and sound fantastic. I have never seen such a sharp image before and the sound really makes you take note of everything a film has to offer. There is also the feature of up-scaling DVDs to near 1080p quality. I was very impressed.
One of the main reasons I chose the Toshiba HD-EP30 was for it's Optical Output capabilities. The use of Optical Cables for the sounds really does make a huge difference when compared to Aux/Phono cables. Which coupled with an HDMI cable, makes everything so realistic.
So if you want to experience a film how it should be viewed, I would strongly recommend an HD DVD player. Again there is the obvious draw-back of the future backing of HD DVD, but this is quickly forgotten about with the range of HD DVDs available; Shaun of the Dead, Harry Potter, Planet Earth etc.
For the amazingly cheap price tag on HD DVD players and discs, I would not look any further. If you have a lot of spare cash then a Blu-Ray player might be for you, but for an amazing looking and sounding film experience with an extensive back-catalog them HD DVD is for you.
