Torn Curtain

Though regarded as one of Hitchcock's weakest, I happen to beleive it's a very enjoyable and a good use of two hours.
The film centers around Michael Armstrong (Paul Newman) and Sarah Sherman venturing behind the Iron Curtain, as Sarah beleives that Newman is deffecting to the Germans after the American government shut down his project. But is he really a deffecter?
The film is split into three acts,
Act 1: Focuses on Sarah's point of view,
Act 2: Focuses on Micheal's point of view,
Act 3: Focuses on both the points of view.
All of which are exciting and fun to watch. My personal favorite is Act 2 in which Micheal is being persued by Gromek through a muesem, the scene is very tense and errie.
The DVD comes with some fine extras. The best of which is the documentary which is informative and interesting. The other extras are the trailer, production stills and a few selected scences with a different music score by Bernard Hermann. It would have been nice if the deleted scene was a featured extra instead of merely incorporated into the documentary but it's not the end of the world.
If you havn't seen many Hitchcock films watch this. But if your going to compare it to the likes of "Psycho" and "Vertigo" then don't. I enjoyed it because I watched it with an open mind, maybe you should too...
