TomTom GO 930 Car GPS Receiver

Having recently purchased the new TomTom GO 930 Car GPS Receiver, I was thrilled to find out that it is actually a lot better then iI expected it to be. It has got everything any sat-nav can possible have, the best feature is its bluetooth, which allows users to connect their mobile phones to the device. It is very useful as the penalties for using a mobile phone whilst driving are getting bigger and bigger.

It is available on ebay al less then half price, at first I wasnt sure if i made the right choice but once I receiced it, I fell in love with it. Probably the best 200 pounds I have ever spent on electricals.

Seeing is beleiveing but I would stronlgy recommend this to anyone and once you get it, only then you realise what you get for less then 200 pounds. It was a lot better then I thought and I am sure you will find the same!

miles better than the old version. screen is alot clearer and seems easier to use. i have only used it a few times but seems flawless. it is alot easier to fix to the window also :), so far there is nothing i dislike about this. quality product.

I was a little wary when bidding for this as I was concerned that it may be inferior to a new one. I was very pleasantly surprised to find, when I got it, that it was just as a new one. So in all I saved at least £100.
Certainly no complaints and I would recommend to anyone.

The device itself is easy to use and very clear. I prefer TomTom because for driving it is the GPS I have the most experience with, which is why I go for it everytime.

The map coverage is also very important to me as I go the the USA and Canada regularly and want 'one size fits all'!

I went for the Go530 as opposed to the newer Go940 because I was not prepared to pay alot more for the live services. I am sure they are very good but I just want a easy to use device that gets me to where I want to go. All the extra bells and whistle would only be a distraction.

Really fantastic item that I've got in this auction; the auction said the article was "refurbished", but by the aspect and features it looks really like new. And the price was attonishing, much less than in many other auctions. The seller is really legal and serious, and all the aspects of this auction were really efective and real. I recomend strongly this seller.

The 930 does exactly what it says on the tin. It does work straight out of the box, and it will establish your position remarkably quickly.
I have changed to the 930 from the 710, and the main physical improvements are the slimness of the unit together with the smart gloss black finish.
I have never found the TomTom home software works 100%, and you will need a certain amount of perseverance to get the unit totally up to date, and running smoothly. Some updates tend to cause conflicts on the device, particularly the phone applications updates. However if you do persevere,the hands free facility is outstanding and is as good as the navigation.
TomTom appears to have cut back on the quality of the windscreen mount on the 930. The mount on the 710, is very sturdy, and you twist the base to provide a very positive fix to the windscreen. The 930 has a basic sucker attachment, which will fall off the screen at times. The 930 does not have a mains charger in the box.
Overall a quality product that can be highly recommended.

The tomttom 930 is a excellent product.
It will bring you everywhere in Europe without any problems.

The cost of this product was so low in the uk, and I was already looking for the tomtom 930
that’s why I both this in the uk.

i bought this product becuase i drive around london alot every day, my reason for buying are simple it came with traffic alerts, ive found it very useful and would think that it would suit someone with good knowlegde of areas already and used as an aid , i do not think that gps is ment to take you the whole way even tho this says iq tom tom its still not good enuff to take you a beter or shorter route even tho it has been improved alot, my advise is if u are buying it for the iq it ok but, you must be an experinced driver to use it beucase u will ned to divert of the tom tom course sometimes i only use tom tom for the last 1 mile of journey, to take me to the road im going to ect ect im quite good with area and this is perfect for the last mile of drive, also on moterways the lane reconition is very good and useful, im pleased i bought this item, as the last time i invested in a tom tom the 910 the docking bit started to go faluty and not charging on route but they have solved thta problem now and im pleased wiht put come user friendly out of ten is 8 and programe i would give an 9 ovewrall its a good devise but rember to use your own brain first, if you think you know a better route you proberly do, so go with your own flow, alll the tom tom is is just an aid good luck

Arrived in a nice box and with EVERYTHING needed already inside which is a very pleasant surprise. No need to search for leads or plugs etc etc. The unit itself is nice looking with a nice solid feel. I have tried several but this is the nicest one to date I have had. The screen mount (supplied) works well and is more than capable. It charges quickly and holds charge reasonably well and much better than other sat navs I've had. The software is good and the maps are concise and nice looking. Voices supplied are not good at all but are very easily changed via the USB cable and thousands of sites on the web. Just google tom tom voices and you will see them all. The only real gripe I had on first usage was the utterly useless postcode search function which tom tom have right royaly messed up. It's the thing most people look for in a sat nav, including me! On searching the net it was obviously a poular gripe and one which thankfully had a simple solution. Again downloaded the update from the Tom tom site and now it works fine (thankfully or it was going back)
Overall it's a good piece of kit for the price (£155 + P&P by the way, although it was a refurb) I would recommend it even for the technophobes out there as it's simple to use has good functions, looks and feels good and has oodles of followers on the net so fault solving is easy. I haven't used all the features yet as I really just wanted to get from A to B, and for this it's perfect. Get one if you can but don't pay silly money. Under £200 is a good price. Hope this helps make your mind up.

Had to tweak a little.... like full UK postcode search (look at FAQ on TOMTOM)
But that is with the brand new version as well.

Very good prompt delivery, slightly disappointed to find out that it was a reconditioned unit and not New!

Very very easy to use, looks so sexc and i love it... All the features are easy to find and the screen is clearer then ever. however the only down side is that the maximum volume could be a bit higher but thats ok.
Overall a great piece of kit and i used it for the first time today and its ticked all the boxex for me. Excellant

Very easy to follow instruction at it got me home first time out, even tho I tried to confuse it!! Most useful feature is the hands free so I don't have to have a special fitting done to my next car. The larger screen is a def. plus and excellent to be able to choose low intensity night screens. Lots of fun bits as well. Charges as either direct from your PC / laptop or from the cig.lighter in the car. So far - highly recommended.

i like tomtomgo930 because its new version its good looking shape and gives more facilties than older one. i dicided to buy this item beacause i wanted something better and strong enough which is tomtom go 930

the seller listed the Itam but didn't have it in stock,so why list it but he did give me my money back but it was just a waste of my time as i missed another one that i was going after.

This is an excellent product and i am very happy with how easy this Sat Nav is to use. You can also add funny voices, pictures and music. Fantastic !

Great piece of kit - MY ONE COMPLAINT is with the PAY PAL system - the date of purchase shows up TWENTY TWO DAYS before if arrived HENCE the free one month map update that came with it expired within a few days and the map is already out of date and CANNOT be updated without paying for it. This I would rate as VERY POOR - the guarantee should start from when one receives it the same as if was purchased in a store.

Having explored the marked I was looking for a Go 730 but opted for the G0 930 as a) it was available and b) at £150 (re-furbished)offered better value.

On connecting it to TomTom Home it downloaded the latest maps for Europe, UK and North America. Compared the the Garmin 250W I used to own the mapping was precise and the verbal instructions spot on.

Getting the wireless data link to work via my Blackberry 8800 on Orange was a bit tricky but in the end I found that asking Orange to lift the adult content bar did the trick. Now I can receive all the TomTom PLus services and thus far am very happy with them.

The other thing I like is the hands free phone facility although I did find the Bluetooth seems to dislike my PC. Not a problem as I do not need the sat-nav to navigate at home and TomTom Home PC software works fine.

I also like the ability to pre-plan my routes on the PC and transfer the waypoints to the 930. Odd thing is that you cannot transfer the name of the address only the Latitude and Longitude co-ordiantes.

To sum up, I have had the TomTom Go 930 for a week and am very happy with it and at £150 is superb value.

Quite simply it does everything I need. It has a host off useful features many of which I use in my job. Was using a Tom Tom one V2 which did the job well but this GO 930 is quite simply in another league.
