Tom of Finland

An interesting subject and one I was eager to see, but selecting the English subtitles totally defeated me and figuring out the on screen instructions was no small task. Eventually I made it and found the film became just a melange of themed pictures, no idea what the interview with Tom was about but assumed a dialogue from the progression of his drawings. I found it very difficult to go back and alter the timing of the album and finally after 4 re-tries of the film gave up. I am clear that if you can get past the first 15 minutes of what seemed like a repacharge of choices, not really making sense to me, and figure out a mode to operate the rest then it would be good. But with no subtitles and a lot of interview with Tom sat on a stool in front of a screen, it just became tedious. The books are better.
