Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne should have won oscars for this, this is an excellent film, Ike and Tina couldn't have done it better themselves.

Fantastic film portraying the abusive past of Tina Turner at the hands of her singing partner and husband Ike. Angela Basset plays Tina perfectly. Very entertaining, the music is fabulous, Lawrence Fishburne is a great Ike. if you are a music fan and more so a Tina fan, dont miss this film.

This DVD was recommended to me by a friend. If you like Tina Turner you will love this DVD of her life story . A very emotional film with excellent songs and the acting was brilliant.

This is a really good film it's one you can watch over and over again. It's a true life story about Tina Turner the good and bad that happens, but the only thing is the songs get stuck in your head all day.

Wow what a film, one of my all time best.
This film is of course based on a true story about the roller coaster earlier years of Tina Turners life from before she even thought about her singing career through to her eventual solo career.
This film covers all emotions, sadness, joy, love, & hate. Some scenes are shocking if like me you were unaware of Tina's life before watching the movie.
Overall, a great movie, with some pretty good songs too (even 'This little light of mine' ..."Let it shine!..." LOL).
...Well worth a watch.

i have watched this film before and thought it was really intresting to find out what sort of a life tina turner had when she was younger and how she manged to become a great success it is a really good film and shows you just how hard her life was and what a real pig she was married to for so many years.

it was a sad film that she could stand by her man though any thing that he did to her she is a brave women and i was so happy at the end when she got on ith her life fair pay to her.

I actually bought this item for my best friend for Christmas as we watched this film many years ago, and was hooked instantly. It really is a remarkable film about a remarkable woman and Angela Bassett portrays Tina Tuner perfectly. In some cases, you actually forget this is not the real person. When Tina finally sings at the end of the film, you find it hard to spot any differences between the two women. Bassett has all of Turners portrayal and characteristics and disposition down to a tee.

This is a really hard item to find in the shops now, due to its age, and like most things when you do find it, it is very pricey, however I managed to bag a bargain and was really pleased with my purchase, the price, the service and delivery. I would highly recommend the seller as they were very consistent and in regular contact all the way through the sale and I received the item in a couple of days, which was perfect to avoid the usual worry of buying online at Christmas.

I am a total fan of this amazing film and have been for many years, the only thing I can say I am not happy about this transaction is that I did not purchase a copy for myself, and if you have not seen this truly brilliant film - what are you waiting for. I must warn you though, what this lady went through is not for the faint hearted and the saddest thing of all is, that it is all based on true events! Happy Tina Turner watching!

I bought the DVD after reading a biography of Tina Turner. The film was very well done and handled the difficult subject of domestic violence with some sensitivity - for the most part hinting rather than being graphic. The songs were excellent and the acting and lip synching were superbly done. I can highly recommend this DVD for anyone interested in 60s and 70s pop and in Motown.

i decided to buy this dvd for my sister as a present. she has been after it for a while so really chuffed when i got it for her.she love's tina turner when she first seen the film she couldn't stop talking about it.
